Job Duties
Interpret schematics to build/wire/test complex UL Listed control panels including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, safety circuits, ethernet, etc
Perform power-on and i/o checkout of completed panels
Travel to customer sites (up to 25%) to install power feeders, control panels, and field-wired devices and instrumentation
Assist Controls Engineers with system power-on and commissioning
Preferred Experience
Single and three phase power wiring up to 480v
Control circuit installation and troubleshooting
Power feeder installation using RMC (rigid galvanized, stainless, and pvc-coated), NEMA 1 and NEMA 4x stainless wireway, and ladder cable tray.
Field wiring controls and instrumentation including- motors, control valves, flow meters, analog pressure/temperature sensors, conductivity sensors, chlorine analyzers, chart recorders, etc.
Industrial communication protocols - 4-20mA analog loops, Ethernet/IP (copper and fiber), AS-Interface, IO-Link, legacy DeviceNet and DH+ networks.
Troubleshooting a wide variety of new and legacy industrial automation equipment. PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, safety circuits, instruments, communication networks, etc.
Required Skills
Read and interpret P&IDs, Electrical Schematics, and Technical Documentation.
Accurately bend and install rigid conduit using hand benders, Chicago benders, power benders (Greenlee 555), and power threaders.
Install and terminate power feeders up to 750kcmil.
Install and terminate device field wiring using schematics and product documentation
Familiarity with NEC and UL508a standards
Use multimeters, megohmmeters, loop calibrators, laptop software, etc to troubleshoot/verify/calibrate electrical circuits and devices.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN
As a Licensed Electrician at Anchor Sandblasting and Coatings, you install and repair wiring, electrical and industrial equipment, and fuse boxes aboard ships and in shipyard facilities. To identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs, you carefully inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components. Accurately reading blueprints, you determine the locations for equipment and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. Using hand tools, you measure, cut, and install electrical conduits. To ensure safety, you use an ohmmeter to test the continuity of electric circuits.
You also repair and maintain the electrical equipment aboard ships, such as generators, alternators, motors, and intercommunication systems. To ensure that the electric motors are properly driving the pumps, blowers, and refrigerating machinery, you perform routine tests. You strip insulation from wire ends, solder ends to terminals, use a voltmeter and ammeter to test the wiring for short circuits, clean and replace commutator brushes, and remove and replace fuses and lights. What You ll Do:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential electrical systems
Install wiring, outlets, switches, panels, lighting, and other electrical components

RAMS is a licensed Electrical Contractor and a state licensed Pre-Apprenticeship school for the electrical trade. We are holding interviews for those people who are interested in becoming commercial electricians. If selected into the program, you will be paid while in school and have all your required tools provided to you at no cost while in the program. The training program is 100% free to those individuals selected! Those individuals who are selected for the program will be hired full time by RAMS.
The JumpStart program is six months long and broken out into two phases.
Phase one will be an intense week of both hands-on training and classroom training. You will be taught the basics of electrical theory, EMT bending, circuitry, material identification, tool use, and OSHA safety.
Phase two will be the OJT (On the Job training) portion. You will be assigned to a commercial job site and teamed with a Journeyman level commercial electrician to learn while you work.
Once you graduate the JumpStart program you are still a RAMS employee, but now have the basic skills to work/function in the field. You are also now eligible to be sponsored into a four-year apprenticeship school.
The pay is as follows:
First week of classroom training you make $13.00 per hour.
On the first day of your second week (1st day of your assignment), you will be making $15.00 per hour while on the job training. GETTING PAID WHILE LEARNING!!!
After the completion of 160 hours of OJT, your pay goes to $17.00 per hour.
After the completion of 620 additional hours of OJT, your pay goes to $18.00 per hour until the program is completed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Installation and repair of wiring and conduit within the scope of the NEC (National Electrical Code)
Repair and maintenance of electrical fixtures and control equipment. (Time Clock)
Able to set and program time clocks.
Planning for new or modified installations to minimize waste of material, provide access for future maintenance, lock all disconnects when leaving sign.
Install equipment such as lighting fixtures, relays, ballast, breakers disconnects circuit breakers and fuses. Fasten in place with screws or bolts.
Use the lock out tag out method.
Identify and promptly report any unsafe conditions observed.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT:
Climbing and working at elevated heights in different weather and heat conditions sitting, walking, standing, speaking, hearing, reading, kneeling, lifting, carrying a minimum of 50 lbs., multiple concurrent tasks, frequent interruptions, verbal and written communication, detailed work and confidentiality.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Safety harness with lanyard and other personal protective equipment, various ladders, a multi-meter to determine voltage, power tools and hand tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have 2 years minimum electrical experience
Ability without fearing to climb and work safely at elevated heights, 60ft or more.
Read blueprints and schematic.
Ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems.

Responsibilities

* Must be able to read blue prints and understand the operation of main switchgear, distribution systems and emergency transfer switches.
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
* Must have good communication skills.
* Must be safety conscious.
* Must be able to work as a team player to accomplish the goals of the Engineering Department.
Work Environment:
* Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in the back of house of the casino, which can be faced-paced with excessive noise. Also, there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
