In addition, you will:
Troubleshoot & repair equipment and building electrical systems. Maintain and repair electrical components such as motors, transformers, switch gear, rectifiers, control systems, fire alarms, motor control centers, and shop machinery power feeds.
Run conduit, replace fuses, make new electrical gear installations, troubleshoot circuitry.
Perform office electrical maintenance, light trimming, & new installations.
Work with schematics and wiring diagrams, order material.
Make comprehensive inspection using a variety of inspection instruments and gauges to detect malfunctions
Analyze and diagnose cause of malfunctions, failures, and repetitive manufacturing problems and recommend and implement proper corrective actions
Analyze malfunctions and execute the repair of control systems and install, maintain, or modify such systems
Perform facilities and equipment maintenance, as needed
Plan, layout, rig, move, erect, and install complex equipment and machinery, overhead cranes, etc.
Keep work areas and equipment clean and operating safely
Train others, as necessary
Participate in and own Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives and performance throughout the plant
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve quality and product flow
Participate in lean initiatives, using 6 Sigma tools for process improvements
Identify and implement Kaizens for continuous improvement

The hourly base pay range for this position is $34.68 to $42.89. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.

Apprentice electrician job in Niskayuna, NY
This is a Non-Exempt position in support of the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) of facilities at the Kesselring Naval Training Facility. This project is a joint venture as we partner with BWXT to form BWSR LLC serving as a government sub-contractor. Candidates should have a New York State Certified Electrician's license or equivalent and experience and knowledge of standard construction activities and methods using hand and power tools. Workers receive specific training in radiological controls, hazardous materials, and asbestos abatement and are expected to maintain their knowledge levels.
Candidates should be prepared to execute duties of an Electrician as well as a Contamination Worker in the field.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
* Serve as a qualified Electrician during dismantlement activities
* Verification of Electrical disconnects and de-energization
* Electrical inspections and repairs
* Oversight and execution of Lock/Out Tag/Out of energy sources
* Pre-work scoping to determine the identification of electrical hazards
* Demolition and dismantlement of equipment and structures
* Mechanical disconnection and segregation of out-of-service machinery
* Scaffold erection and working at heights
* Radiological decontamination and component removal in strict compliance with radiological work procedures
* Asbestos abatement of facilities and components
* Environmental investigation and remediation activities
* Segregation and packaging of hazardous, non-hazardous, chemical, and radiological wastes
* Testing: written and practical exams to gain and maintain required qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* New York State Electrician certification or equivalent
* 5 years minimum experience as a journeyman Electrician
* 3 years minimum experience in Construction and/or Demolition
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to be Verbatim Compliant to work/safety procedures
* Use of wide range of hand and power tools
* Carpentry and mechanical skills
* Ability to work in strict Safety-focused work environment
* Ability to take written and practical examinations
* U.S. Citizen - No Dual Citizenship
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Dept. of Energy "L" clearance
* Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
Preferred Experience:
* Experience as an Electrician crew Foreman
* Experience with rigging and mechanical lifting equipment
* Experience working with Asbestos, Lead, PCBs and other Hazardous Materials
* Asbestos certification
* 40HR HAZWOPER
* Experience working by OSHA guidelines and standards
* Prior experience in radiological D&D and remediation a plus
* U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience a plus

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $96,000 - $115,00 Per Year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
