Job Overview
The Chief Electrician supervises all Tradesmen and Facility Maintenance personnel, including Technicians, Electricians, Painters, and Carpenters. They mentor, coach, and train field staff to ensure high performance and adherence to maintenance standards.
What You Will Do
Execute and oversee processes and procedures related to preventive maintenance, response calls, energy conservation, safety, purchasing, expense management, and training programs within assigned divisions
Serve as the primary point of contact for all facilities work within assigned divisions, directing both Facilities personnel and contractors
Develop and communicate written individual goals for each direct report annually
Actively manage, coach, train, mentor, and recognize field staff
Track and monitor key performance indicators, including WOMS productivity statistics, expense results, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction reports
Ensure all purchases by direct reports comply with purchasing procedures and utilize approved vendors and supply partners
Assist the Division Facility Manager (DFM) in preparing and submitting capital requests
Regularly interface with Store Management, Operations, Visual, and Asset Protection teams
Participate in the planning process for store-requested projects and provide progress reports as needed
Perform electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other facility management functions as required or permitted by the collective bargaining agreement

Skills You Will Need
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and facility maintenance. Ability to interpret technical documents and operate relevant tools and RF equipment.
Safety & Compliance: Deep understanding of safety protocols, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment
Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and train staff while effectively managing internal teams and external contractors
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
Communication & Collaboration: Effective verbal and written communication with cross-functional teams, including Store Management, Operations, and Asset Protection

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Good knowledge of process equipment such as Bioreactors, centrifuges, purification processing skids, purification columns, Automatic change part washers, Auto clave (Steam Sterilizer).
Good knowledge of utility and facility equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, pump and drives, RO-EDI, WFI, and clean steam systems.
Experience performing mechanical maintenance activities such as valve rebuilds (diaphragm, ball valves, gate valves, proportional control valves), pump rebuild including seals (positive displacement, air pumps, peristaltic, and centrifugal pumps), agitator maintenance including seal replacements, motor pump replacement/alignment, and heat exchanger repairs. Full-time Description
The Mechanic/Electrician is a regular full-time position at Kashiv BioSciences, LLC. in Piscataway, NJ.
This is a mid-level maintenance technician position which provides maintenance and troubleshooting services to the Piscataway and Prolong manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on process and utility equipment in support of a Manufacturing Facility, which operates 24/7.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Good knowledge of process equipment such as Bioreactors, centrifuges, purification processing skids, purification columns, Automatic change part washers, Auto clave (Steam Sterilizer).
Good knowledge of utility and facility equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, pump and drives, RO-EDI, WFI, and clean steam systems.
Experience performing mechanical maintenance activities such as valve rebuilds (diaphragm, ball valves, gate valves, proportional control valves), pump rebuild including seals (positive displacement, air pumps, peristaltic, and centrifugal pumps), agitator maintenance including seal replacements, motor pump replacement/alignment, and heat exchanger repairs. Partial knowledge of all aspects of mechanical maintenance required for these systems.
Capable of performing work in the mechanical, pipefitting, or plumbing trades.
Detail oriented and be able to maintain Compliance documentation.

Additional Job Functions:
Use basic hand tools.
Must be able to read, write and utilize drawings, mathematics, formulas.
Read mechanical schematics and piping diagrams P&ID's
Must be able to work in a clean room environment.
Candidate must possess basic computer skills
Must have ability to communicate both orally and written in a clear manner.
Education:
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Mechanics, Electricity, or Electronics.
Technical Certificate in Mechanics, Electricity, Refrigeration or Instrumentation or related experience.
Experience:
3-5+ years in plant or equipment maintenance, with experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred
Good knowledge on cGMP regulations

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
General Work Environment:
Must be able to work in manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and frequent interruptions.
Must be able to hear and speak clearly enough to participate in highly interactive, fast paced conversations.
Use of an on-call mobile phone as well as on-site support during non-business hours
Willing to work long hours and weekends, as needed to assure that the manufacturing operations are not affected
Willing to work in shift schedule

Ability to walk and stand for periods of time
Must be able to walk to and through manufacturing cleanroom settings.
Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
