Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean and productive learning environment. Administer and grade tests; maintain progress and attendance on students. Advance the retention of students in support of achieving program membership hour goals. Assist students with job placement and applicable industry or state certifications/licenses in support of meeting program placement and certification goals. Maintain contact with area employers; elicit feedback regarding curricula and industry trends. Develop and prepare appropriate curricula changes according to the recommendations of employer advisory teams, local businesses, and/or industry and professional standards. Ensure that instructional content areas comply with College standards, and programmatic and/or institutional accreditation requirements. Develop annual professional development plan and participate in professional development activities. Participate in the development of programmatic three-year plans and employer advisory team meetings. Motivate and advise students in the areas of appropriate work behavior, training, or study habits. Assist counselors, supervisor, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training. Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits. Support programmatic and college marketing activities. Work cooperatively within the college community. Control the use of equipment and supplies; recommend purchases. Monitor budget and control expenses.
Requirements:
Minimum of six years of related work experience and completion of a formal apprenticeship program. Must possess a current Utah Journeyman Electrician License. Preference will be given to those individuals that have teaching experience. Familiar with word processing, email and can operate a Windows-based personal computer. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
