The Electrician performs a variety of electrical work in the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components, equipment, systems and machinery. Responsibilities * Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all Lucas Milhaupt employees. * Identify, troubleshoot and repair problems in electrical wiring and systems up to 480 volts. * Accept, plan and complete assignments for repair or installation of electrical equipment, building systems and all plant production equipment. * Install conduit, panel boards and all related fittings including controls for power, heat and light in accordance with Local and National code. * Work from wiring diagrams, making diagrams if needed. * Using and maintaining all test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls. * Assist engineering with design of new equipment controls, PLC controls, building electrical systems and power distribution systems. * Troubleshoot equipment program control problems through utilization of computer PLC interface or laptop computer. * Operate and maintain plant systems, including air compressors, pumps and general facility support systems. * Repair and maintain production machinery. * Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications of sequence of electrical operations. * Perform other duties as assigned.
