Specific Accountabilities of the Industrial Electrician:
Production:
Routes (physically monitor/inspect plant pumps, motors, belts, etc.).
Ensure that all field equipment is operating properly; resolve and prevent field problems; perform diagnostic/proactive inspections and repairs as necessary to minimize downtime and optimize equipment operations.
Perform daily inspections, troubleshooting, quality testing, and general labor services in the plant and provide documentation and reporting as required or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
Operate mobile equipment, cement loading, shipping, reclaim and transfer equipment.
Perform basic repairs to facilitate plant operation.
Position will be part of the production rotating shifts and a team member of that shift supporting production.
Mechanical:
Hydraulic & Pneumatic component troubleshooting and replacement.
Drive system components
Basic alignments
Belt tracking
Emergency repair welding
Cutting Torch
Scheduled inspections & work orders.
Lubricate per schedule and as needed.

ROLE SUMMARY:
Install, maintain and repair all electrical, pneumatic and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment in this manufacturing, packaging and distribution facility.
Follow electrical codes, manuals, schematic drawings, blueprints and other specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):
Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, process control and programmable controllers, as well as transformers, motors, relays, switches, etc.
Diagnose, repair and program solid state equipment.
Interpret and update loop sheets, electrical schematics, P&ID's, and 1/0 wiring.
Install wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in requested areas.
Perform competent instrumentation calibrations and PLC programming.
Provide effective validations of instrument and process control systems.
Safely handle voltages up to 4160 volts and perform all duties in compliance with NEC codes and standards.
"B" and "C" Electricians perform all of the above responsibilities as their skills and knowledge increase through on-the-job and technical training. Only Electricians that have attained the "B" level classification or higher are authorized to provide sole electrical coverages on off-shifts.
Departmental requirements in order to be considered for the A+ role.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required.
Relevant electrical experience is required and ability to pass electrician hands-on testing conducted at local community college.
Demonstrated competency of the qualifications listed for each classification of Electrician in the Electrical Technician Skill Sets document.
5 years for “B”, “C”, Electrician.
9 years for “A” Electrician.
10+ years for “A+” Mechanic.
PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Journeyman License, Certificate or Associate's Degree in Electrical Instrumentation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Work any shift during the week, weekends, holidays and emergency callouts.
Use safe operating procedures and judgement.
