PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand every 15 minutes and walk around the classroom. Most activities require 15 to 20 minutes of standing. The employee must have the ability to walk backwards, side by side with a student and push a wheelchair to various buildings on campus up to four times a day. This position requires balance, bending at a 90 degree angle, and squatting to perform personal care activities (toileting). On occasion, may be required to operate a lifting device to transfer a student from a wheelchair to a changing table. On an infrequent basis, may be required to perform a two-person lift up to 50 lbs.
