+ Repairs, modifies, replaces or otherwise performs routine aircraft maintenance work in a safe and timely manner.

Qualifications
Education & Experience: We are looking for candidates interested in becoming licensed through our DOL approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
Candidates with a certificate or AS degree in electrical technology, electrical construction, instrumentation or similar or minimum of 2 years of electrical experience required.
Location/Travel: This position will require travel in/around South Bend, IN - up to/within a 200-mile radius. Applicants must be permanently located in/around the office location or be willing to permanently relocate. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Per diem and mileage stipends applicable per company policy.
Work Schedule: Start times, break times and work hours vary per site and stage of our projects. Our employees work more than 40 hours per week but no more than 60, as part of our commitment to safety. Due to the type of construction, weekend work maybe required on occasion.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, this role is often exposed to high/precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and all outside weather conditions. This role is expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Due to the nature of our work and our client base, this role may involve tasks in an environment exposed to dust. The work is physically demanding. Mechanical aptitude, good physical strength and endurance, good interpersonal skills when interacting with supervisors, fellow employees, and passengers.
Linemen/signalmen must be available for unplanned overtime and emergency call outs during off-duty hours.
Pass a post-offer physical examination, including drug and alcohol tests. You must be in good physical health to fulfill the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Flexible about unexpected changes in work assignments or priorities. Most of the work assignments will report to headquarters in Michigan City. However, applicants must have the flexibility to report for work at any location between South Bend, and Hegewisch, Illinois. Reliable transportation to and from work is essential.

Salary and Benefits: The starting hourly rate for the position is $31.59. Benefits include a Railroad Retirement Board pension, vacation, personal days, and full medical benefit package. Work Environment: Work is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Most work is during daylight hours but may be required at other times to address the needs of the service. Exposure to heat, humidity, cold, rain, and snow is common.

The HVAC Technician Apprentice position is a part-time apprentice role. The Essentials Program consists of 224 hours (28 days) of hands-on training with a Johnstone instructor. The apprentices will gain the essential knowledge and training through hands-on courses to further develop the necessary skills for a successful HVAC career. The apprentices will gain real world experience in the HVAC industry both during our classes and working with our staff to learn about the HVAC equipment and parts we offer to our customers. Important Qualification Note: Candidates must have a clear driving record, a clear criminal record, and be able to pass a drug screening.

Essential Functions:
Manages warehouse inventory and maintains company database
Receive and process incoming product shipments and unload delivery trucks
Ensures shipments are inspected and any damages are noted and documented
Initiates records as products enter and leave the warehouse through a computerized inventory control system
Stores products in proper locations
Receives, pulls, and adequately prepares all customer orders
Monitors equipment to ensure safety and reports any issues to the supervisor
Helps load products on a delivery truck or for customer
Ensures the safety of the warehouse by keeping it clean and free of potential hazards
Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust and loyalty
Understand and demonstrate the product or service to the customer
Determines customer replacement HVAC/R parts according to inspection and/or verbal description
Research and source products for customers using a computer, catalog, telephone, or any other resources to meet or exceed customer needs
Provide an exceptional level of customer service
Has a sales-focused mindset to increase revenue while maintaining profitability
Enters sales orders into the computer system
Balances cash drawers, create credit invoices, processes pick/pack orders, and will-call
Maintains a professional image of Johnstone Supply by ensuring an exceptional customer shopping experience
Stays informed of new products and utilizes opportunities to educate self, co-workers and customers
Processes customer returns and warranties
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Position Description:
The HVAC Technician Apprentice position is a part-time apprentice role. They will attend our in-house HVAC installation classes on two days per week and will work as a paid employee in our Operations department the other three days per week. The training program will be completed after 14 weeks, where we will work with our customers, residential HVAC contractors, to place each apprentice as a full-time installation technician. The Essentials Program consists of 224 hours (28 days) of hands-on training with a Johnstone instructor. Our curriculum covers residential applications which can crossover to commercial areas of the industry. The apprentices will gain the essential knowledge and training through hands-on courses to further develop the necessary skills for a successful HVAC career. The apprentices will gain real world experience in the HVAC industry both during our classes and working with our staff to learn about the HVAC equipment and parts we offer to our customers. Important Qualification Note: Candidates must have a clear driving record, a clear criminal record, and be able to pass a drug screening.
