    Scheduled Hours 40 This role is designed to provide experience in clinical research. Apprentices will participate in a 12-month apprenticeship and experiential learning opportunity aimed at raising interest for and strengthening candidacy for full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) careers. Learning objectives for the program include didactic learning, mentorship, and hands-on opportunities to complete tasks as an assistant to clinical research teams at WashU School of Medicine. Position will train for CRC I scope of work, including: assisting investigators and full-time staff in the coordination of a basic to moderately complex clinical research study(ies); acting as a liaison with the school, sponsoring agency, hospital partners, community and the study participants; and managing and recording all aspects of clinical trial activity as required by the study team and sponsors and to fulfill other regulatory and compliance requirements. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Trainees will work with program leads to shadow, learn and practice the following types of CRC I responsibilities. * Implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishes record-keeping systems; makes assessments and determinations of participants' progress in the study; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events; makes decisions as when to notify physicians of issues, when to stop participant inclusion and/or to make and/or recommend adjustment of the protocol of particular participants; resolves IRB/protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate; serves as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency. * Recruits and enrolls study participants; makes and/or participates in making determinations of eligibility based on diagnostic criteria and/or observations/analysis in participant interviews; develops informed consent packets for study participants and confers with participants to explain purpose of study and obtain completed informed consent packets; explains diagnostic procedures and treatment plans to address participant/family concerns; administers/scores tests and/or evaluates all lab and clinical assessments to ensure they are completed in a timely manner. * Ensures timely completion of all protocol requirements (assessment, lab testing, procedures and treatments) to include scheduling and facilitating the patient's timely completion of protocol requirements; evaluates and interprets collected clinical data in conjunction with PI as appropriate; prepares oral or written presentations or reports and analyses setting forth progress trends and provides recommendations or conclusions of the same. * Collects clinical data under clinical research protocols. * Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Check in with office for scheduled jobs after the completion of each job and at the end of each workday. * During and or at the end of each task fully complete all company provided forms possible. * Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day. * Check in with clients at the beginning and end of each task to make sure they are aware of everything going on throughout the entire visit. * Obtain client signature on company provided forms where applicable. * Upon completion of each task record time spent at each job on the weekly time sheet. * Hand in paperwork, checks, or cash at the end of each week for processing. * Ensure all vendor packing slips or invoices for each job are handed to a Warehouse Coordinator. * Ensure all materials used for each task are listed properly on the company provided forms. * Answer all office pages/calls in a timely manner. * Check in as needed to ensure office dispatcher and/or field supervisor are aware of your status. * Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required. * Call in repairs to the estimator or field supervisor and provide the necessary info needed to quote the repair and fill out the appropriate quote forms as required. * Consult field supervisor or dispatcher in times of uncertainty. * Ability to communicate with customers in a clear, confident manner throughout the entire service so that they are aware of what is going on inside their home/business. * Ability to adjust your communications to provide the best customer experience possible. * Ability to create detailed job notes in the customer's account for future reference. * Ability to both teach and learn by sharing thoughts/experiences with your coworkers in meetings and in one-to-one interaction. * Willingness to try new ideas and recommend process improvements to your manager with the objective of improving efficiency/effectiveness. * The ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace both in a customer's property and your company vehicle. * The ability to work safely and the motivation to help ensure that those you work with are working in a safe manner.
