Apprentice Statistics in the US

The average employee age for apprentices is 42 years. The apprentice workforce reached a whopping 210,722 in 2020!

Among apprentices, we discovered that 22.6% of them are women, while 72.7% are men. The most common race/ethnicity among apprentices is White, which makes up 68.0% of all apprentices. Comparatively, there are 19.2% of the Hispanic or Latino ethnicity and 8.1% of the Black or African American ethnicity. The majority of apprentices are located in NY, New York and IL, Chicago.

Apprentices are more likely to work at private companies in comparison to public companies. Taking it a step further, apprentices are more likely to find a job in the construction industry. Looking at apprentice statistics, we found was that Minnesota, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Vermont and New York are where apprentices find the highest salaries.

From where do we know all information about apprentice demographics? We analyzed 43,489 apprentices resumes to find out what the average demographics are for the job position. Just to be clear, by demographics we mean the study of population-based factors like age, race, and sex. On top of scouring through resumes, we also took note of job proposals from employers and Census Bureau data. And guess what? We found some pretty interesting information.
