This class is distinguished from the Lineworker First Class by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited work experience. WORKING ENVIRONMENT Duties are performed both indoors and out. Indoor work is typically performed in a workshop setting. While working outdoors, incumbent is exposed to inclement weather conditions. Duties may also require the incumbent to work in confined spaces, i.e. manholes. Lineworker First Class DEFINITION Perform skilled and specialized work in the construction, maintenance and operation of an electrical distribution, transmission, overhead and underground systems; and perform a variety of other duties and responsibilities involved in providing electrical utility services for the City. Location/Travel: This position will require travel in/around Omaha, NE - up to/within a 200-mile radius.
