A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN HVAC APPRENTICE.
As an HVAC apprentice, you start each day ready to learn and grow within the industry. 2 days during the work week, you will be hands on training in our very own training facility. There will literature, videos, and teaching direction. The other 3 days you will be out in the field with a Sr. service tech going through the everyday of a service technician. You will be trained on proper procedures and also all the various equipment you will see. With-in 4-6 weeks, you will take your EPA test so that you will be licensed to handle refrigerant. Once you have passed the in class course, you will go out with a supervisor and run calls for one whole day. He will monitor the knowledge you learned and customer service side. Once he clears you, you will be on your own running routine HVAC maintenance. After that you will be going through some in house and ride along training to get better equipped to diagnose a failed system.

What would you do if hired?

Job Category: Mx Mechanic Assists licensed A&P Mechanics to perform preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in accordance with standards and regulations.

* Repairs, modifies, replaces or otherwise performs routine aircraft maintenance work in a safe and timely manner.
* Accurately completes required maintenance-related paperwork.
* Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
* Completes on-the-job-training (OJT) forms and any required reading.
* Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement or modification.
* Helps with general cleanup of work areas.
* Maintains regular and prompt attendance and time clock adherence.
* Demonstrates effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.
* Evaluates the area and equipment that will be utilized to ensure that safety is not compromised before performing any maintenance action. Applies safety first at all times.
* Completes all department internal company forms, maintenance records, documents, work orders, etc. including performing maintenance computer system transactions as required.
* Reads and acknowledges understanding of maintenance newsletters and Company Emails on a timely basis.
* Performs other duties as assigned or required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of 30 months of concurrent experience for both Airframe and Powerplant ratings
* Able to use and navigate within Microsoft Office.
* Strong mechanical aptitude
* Able to work both in a team setting and individually.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* Previous mechanical experience working in a shop environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* Must successfully pass background check and drug test
* No previous felony convictions and possess a stable employment history.
* Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
* Must have access to Form DD-214
* Must have access to On-the-Job Training (OJT) paperwork

Position Description:
The HVAC Technician Apprentice position is a part-time apprentice role. They will attend our in-house HVAC installation classes on two days per week and will work as a paid employee in our Operations department the other three days per week. The training program will be completed after 14 weeks, where we will work with our customers, residential HVAC contractors, to place each apprentice as a full-time installation technician. The Essentials Program consists of 224 hours (28 days) of hands-on training with a Johnstone instructor. Our curriculum covers residential applications which can crossover to commercial areas of the industry. The apprentices will gain the essential knowledge and training through hands-on courses to further develop the necessary skills for a successful HVAC career. The apprentices will gain real world experience in the HVAC industry both during our classes and working with our staff to learn about the HVAC equipment and parts we offer to our customers. Important Qualification Note: Candidates must have a clear driving record, a clear criminal record, and be able to pass a drug screening.

Essential Functions:
Manages warehouse inventory and maintains company database
Receive and process incoming product shipments and unload delivery trucks
Ensures shipments are inspected and any damages are noted and documented

Stores products in proper locations
Receives, pulls, and adequately prepares all customer orders
