The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for Machining Apprentices to join our team!
The apprentice will be registered with the Department of Labor under a CNC Machining apprenticeship program. The program will include on the job training as well as instructor led courses through one of our partner organizations, Ogden/Weber Tech, Davis Tech, or Bridgerland Tech Colleges. The training will start in entry-level manufacturing until the apprentice has completed enough coursework with the tech college to be able to run a machine. At that time, the apprentice with work with a mentor, learning hands-on machining and will work to complete a machining certificate.
The apprenticeship training period is for 1 year with a requirement of receiving a machining certificate from one of the Tech Colleges. After successful completion, the candidate will finish in an off-shift position as a permanent full-time employee.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience in areas demonstrating mechanical aptitude is desired
Physical lifting requirements include ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
U.S. Citizenship status required. Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. General Purpose
As a Substation Apprentice, you'll work under the close supervision of a journeyman or foreman and may participate in or do the following: Operate, construct, and maintain substations, switchyards and associated equipment and systems. Perform electrical, mechanical, or civil work in overhauling, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining all apparatus and substation property.
Responsibilities
* Install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and overhaul all substation apparatus such as generators, circuit breakers, transformers, electric motors, protective devices, capacitor banks, regulators, condensers, pumps, reactors, load tap changers, circuit switchers, motor-operated and manual switches, bus work, wiring, battery banks and chargers, and associated equipment at switch-yards, and substations or power plants if requested.
* Perform all substation inspections and documentation activities that accompany these duties for all substation equipment.
* Install and maintain station service auto transfer panels, emergency generator instrumentation and controls. Assist in the installation of protective relaying or metering equipment. Install conduit, and pull wire or cable as necessary.
* Use special equipment to test, maintain, or troubleshoot apparatus such as take oil samples (DGA and quality), Hydran, oil processing, power factor testing, ground grid, TTR, high pot, breaker timing, infrared camera, etc.
* Work from blueprints, instruction manuals, schematics, and manufacturer's bulletins, to install, layout, repair, and/or maintain all electrical or mechanical systems as it pertains to apparatus equipment.
* Perform welding and operate shop equipment such as, drill presses, grinders, saws, and torches in the repair of, manufacture, or maintenance of equipment and apparatus
* Install, maintain and repair lighting, security systems, air conditioning, and heating systems. Maintain emergency power units when requested
* Operate service, boom, bucket trucks, and cranes. Tow oil, gas, and vacuum trailers, and other mobile equipment used in the maintenance, overhaul, and operation of plants, substations, and switchyards
* Perform switching orders for System (Main Grid Ops) or Region Dispatchers, for the transmission and distribution group or the substation group to effect getting clearances and assurances to work on or maintain substation apparatus
* Prepare reports and maintain records, such as work orders - notifications, mileage, timesheets, weekly activity, overhaul records and reports, inspections, equipment maintenance records.
* Use high voltage proximity meters, high voltage amprobes, cordless phasing sets or power factor sets. Open or close cutout devices for station service transformers or similar equipment. Lift or apply hot tips as necessary to accomplish this work on station service transformers or station cap banks.
* Physical requirements may include working in confined spaces and in elevated work areas such as heights from ladders, structures, scaffolds, buckets and boom trucks.

* Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to work at heights.
* Must be able to work inside substation apparatus.
* Must have completed electrical theory training, which includes AC & DC circuit power, motors and industrial controls.
* Proof of electrical theory training with a "B" or better grade through an accredited institution that offers classes such as the following at SLCC: (AC and DC Essentials (EET-1140) Power and Motors (EET-2120) Industrial Controls (EET -2170) Courses taken at other institutions will be mutually approved on a case by case basis. Electrically qualified journeyman whose qualifications can be verified through documentation and/or assessment will meet the course with requirement outlined above.
* Must have completed the NJATC Electrical Aptitude Test with a test score of 5+.

Maintenance: Combine electronic, mechanical, computer, and control skills to perform scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance to detect and prevent problems. Metal Prep Specialist / Welding Apprentice
Department: Production / Welding
Reports To: Production Manager and Welding Lead
Rate: Non-Exempt / Hourly, $18-$19
The MTI Metal Prep Specialist is responsible for preparing metal parts and materials for fabrication, finishing, and assembly. This includes cleaning, grinding, sanding, deburring, and inspecting metal components to ensure they meet quality and production standards. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, experience with metalworking tools, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. The end goal is to deliver quality precision parts for assembly of best-in-class MTI medical exam and procedure chairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean, deburr, and sand metal surfaces using hand tools, grinders, and power tools.
Inspect raw and cut materials for defects, cleanliness, and conformity to specifications.
Operate machinery such as belt sanders, angle grinders, and deburring tools.
Follow blueprints, work orders, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Handle and move raw materials and finished parts using proper lifting techniques or material-handling equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and prep equipment.
Report any damaged or defective materials or tools to supervisor.
Adhere to safety procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
1+ years of experience in a metal fabrication, welding, or manufacturing environment preferred.
Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, and basic metalworking equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or work instructions.
Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM 3-6-month duration Wage: $24-$26/HR DOE We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Electrician to join our team As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work under the guidance of an experienced Journeyman Electrician, assisting in various electrical tasks on commercial projects. This role is ideal for those who are eager to learn and develop their skills in a dynamic work environment. Various new production lines, machine relocations, lighting upgrades and retrofits are being performed in the 3-6-month job timeline, where a wide range of experience will be gained, and quickly.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
Work with low voltage, & high voltage systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to understand project requirements.
Support industrial electricians in troubleshooting electrical issues using tools such as an ohmmeter.
Run conduit to newly placed machines.
Install new LED lighting in manufacturing facility.
Marginal Duties:
Assist in Production areas as requested.

Experience working on all types of energized high-voltage systems including and up to 230kV and all related equipment required.
Provide effective and meaningful on-the-job training of apprentices and other crew members in maintenance and construction of power lines.
Able to identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit, familiarity with induced voltage, and understanding of proper grounding procedures.
Demonstrate the knowledge of operating equipment safely and maintaining company equipment and tools in good working order.
Capable of performing work in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Demonstrate skill troubleshooting trouble in primary and secondary systems.
Experience effectively conducting a pre-job or tailboard briefing.

QUALIFICATIONS OF A JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completed a certified Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Program (copy of certificated required).
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class “A”) with ability to meet all DOT requirements.
Must be able to past a Drug and Background Check
Must be CPR and First Aid certified or possess the ability to obtain such certification within 90 days of employment.
Must be willing to Travel for extend periods of time.
This full-time position receives a competitive salary commensurate with experience and position responsibilities.
