What You'll Do * Learns to and performs field service-related work activities (e.g., installation and repair of electronic monitoring and reading equipment on residential and small commercial accounts [4 dial indexes], curb box verification work and turning gas off while performing this order type). * Learns to and performs atmospheric corrosion surveys to identify and report atmospheric corrosion. * Learns to and performs DOT inspections. * Learns to and performs Meter Reading functions. * May accompany FMS personnel as they perform their normally assigned duties in the field. * May perform other duties such as miscellaneous surveys. * Operates and maintains company vehicle and vehicle inventory in a neat and orderly manner. * Operates associated data entry devices as required. * Prepares documents and reports as required by the work assigned. * Properly cares for and handles all tools and work equipment used in assigned job duties. * Communicates professionally with customers to promote customer satisfaction. Who you are * Must have a valid vehicle operator's license. * Must be physically capable of performing strenuous work, including walking long distances. * Must pass all required training, including passing all applicable Operator Qualification (OQ) testing and maintain all Operator Qualifications (OQ) required for the position. * Must be willing to work overtime and all shifts as required. * Must have an acceptable work and attendance record. Working Conditions: Shifts may be assigned on a rotating basis. Working hours will range from 7:30 AM and 12:00 AM, Monday through Sunday * Work requires frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions and the requirement to wear protective equipment. Work is performed primarily outside in varying weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, rain, etc.). * Position typically works independently within a defined locate area. * Position requires continuous travel throughout the service territory with frequent stops, entering/exiting the company vehicle, safely parking in a wide variety of situations, and driving in construction zones.
