You are a Journeyperson Pipefitter or Apprentice Pipefitter with experience to support us on industrial pipeline projects. You will be an integral part of the Ledcor team working on the DOW Ethylene Pipeline project. For you, safety and quality are a priority and you are proud of your work at the end of each day.

Responsibilities:Demonstrates knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, and bolting up, valves and fittings Performs bolt up, rigging, and hydro testing Assembles and installs piping sections according to blueprints and job specifications Working safely in a team environment such as working with a crew of pipefitters or working with a welder Performs physically demanding tasks such as cutting openings for pipe while standing for extended periods of time and securing pipe in hard to reach areas Uses testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors

Requirements:
Must have a Journeyperson Pipefitter certification or be a registered Pipefitter Apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority Minimum 3+ years of experience on industrial construction or pipeline projects is required Fall Protection, EWP and Drive-safe certification is an asset Good attention to detail with the ability to problem solve Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies

Join HII Marine Services Operations(MSO) in Chesapeake, VA as we keep the most powerful Navy the world has known afloat and ready to serve. MSO trades teams provide expert solutions on shipboard alterations and installations for fleet modernization. The selected Assistant Pipefitter candidate will support MSO, working closely with our skilled trades teams on surface ships performing work on a variety of piping systems, processes and related duties on shipboard structural removals, installations and upgrades for industrial equipment. Selected candidate will be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around the country and abroad when not assigned to a local task. Per Diem provided based on location when on travel. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company. #LI-MJ1 *TL

Candidate must be able to demonstrate brazing ability on needed processes through qualification testing and pass with a satisfactory grade from our Quality Assurance Team with in three weeks of start date for continued employment.

What you will do...

* Display levels of quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement and performance consistent with company values.
* Support trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization
* Assist to meet standards on various contracts such as Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center.
* Install, operate, maintain, repair and modify structural elements and equipment.
* Assist in a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as shipboard systems, integrated systems and related equipment/software at company, customer and/or field locations.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
* Maintain effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
* Apply understanding of production and processes to assignments.
* Perform a variety of simple and complicated tasks related to shipboard maintenance.
* May assist in the development and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
* Perform duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.

What You Must Have…

* Must have High School education/equivalent, and 2 years of related experience.
* Must knowledge/experience with standard pipe fitting procedures.
* Must have knowledge/experience with silver brazing process.
* Must have experience testing installed piping systems.
* Must be able to work from blueprints, weldments, technical manuals, engineering sketches, charts and/or work orders as well as written and verbal instruction.
* Must have knowledge of quality control steps and procedures.
* Must be able to follow safety procedures.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance, and maintain clearance level throughout employment.
* Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date, and maintain credentials throughout employment.
* Must be able to travel between 50% - 75% when not assigned to local tasking.
* Must be able to provide hand tools per trades designation.
* Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred: Bonus points for...

* Current or prior silver brazing qualification certificates Grade III, IV and V preferred.
* Ability to interpret specifications for the purpose of fabrication and/or installation a plus
* Candidates with current or prior welding certificates applicable with MIL-STD-248 preferred.
* Candidates with shipboard experience highly desired.
* Candidates who are currently enrolled or have graduated from and/or completed a vocational school or skilled trades certificate program are preferred.
* Current Shipyard Competent Person Certification preferred.
* Current OSHA 10 Maritime Certificate a plus.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
