Provides Virginia employers with a proven strategy for hiring and maintaining a trained and dedicated workforce through the Virginia Registered Apprenticeship Program (VRAP), which includes the identification of sponsor companies, intermediaries, educational providers and stakeholders. As part of the broader Virginia Works team, it works to develop, promote, evolve, and expand the VRAP. Provides prompt and efficient customer service to prospective and existing customers, including both employers and, when appropriate, job seekers; performs programmatic tasks to ensure compliance; provides assistance and/or training to new staff, as assigned; conducts Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reviews and quality assurance (QA) assessments; actively engages with and contributes to their region's Business Services Team; and assists with special projects. Complete mandatory training to progress through the VRAP. Travels within or outside the service area to meet with potential and existing customers and stakeholders, promote the VRAP, and/or attend meetings or training.
Minimum Qualifications
• Working knowledge of apprenticeship programs and/or training methods; administrative and operational practices; and/or marketing, program promotion, or sales strategies.
• Strong customer service, oral and written communication, and computer skills (experience using Microsoft Office Professional and/or similar software).
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple customer cases and projects; interact effectively with employers, customers, staff and the public; discuss program requirements and promote benefits; conduct interviews, reviews, and research; evaluate requisite skill sets and training needs; use automated systems to enter data and conduct searches; and learn and utilize apprenticeship training methods, policies and regulations, and data systems.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS AN ELECTRICAL INSTALLER - LEVEL 1
In this role, you work on a variety of job sites, where you install conduit, run wiring, and set up switches, outlets, and lighting systems with accuracy and care. You reference blueprints and diagrams to guide your work, always ensuring compliance with safety codes and quality standards. You team up with experienced technicians, learning from them while completing panels and branch circuits under supervision. After each job, you document your work clearly, uploading detailed photos and summarizing the key materials used and any changes made during installation. You stay organized, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with supervisors to keep projects moving forward.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Technician to join our dynamic team in the HVAC, Refrigeration, and Commercial Kitchen Equipment Repair industry. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience, learn essential technical skills, and work alongside skilled professionals to become proficient in servicing, installing, and maintaining HVAC systems, refrigeration units, gas, steam, and electric. This individual must show growth within six months to one year before moving on to junior technician status. The Apprentice will be evaluated every three months and rotate between technicians to ensure diverse training.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment
Learn to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues using tools, meters, and specialized instruments
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and systems
Assist with system inspections, identify malfunctions, and provide recommendations for repairs or upgrades
Maintain and organize equipment, tools, and spare parts inventory
