Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Work safely on the construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized power lines.
* Assist in setting poles and anchors in accordance with safety and technical specifications.
* Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, working condition.
* Learn and identify distribution voltages and understand induced voltage.
* Read and interpret blueprints under supervision; assist in recognizing structural or equipment problems.
* Work productively from aerial devices and at elevated heights.
* Assist in the assembly and erection of poles of varying heights and basic line structures.
* Participate in framing and setting de-energized pole structures both on the ground and in the air.
* Assist in the installation of various line hardware and compression connectors.
* Learn proper techniques for wire sagging and stringing.
* Practice proper PPE usage, including installation, removal, and inspection of rubber goods and cover-up equipment.

About this Role
Step two will introduce the Apprentice to energized secondary work, de-energized primary framing, and bucket truck operation. Step two Apprentice may perform energized secondary work (up to 480 Volts) while being directly supervised by a Lineman or Foreman. The person supervising must be at the same physical location as the Apprentice (on the pole with or in the bucket with/adjacent to). Step two Apprentice may not be within reach or extended reach of the minimum approach distance of any energized primary conductor or equipment while working aloft.

Position Summary
The HVAC Apprentice supports licensed HVAC technicians with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role is designed for individuals eager to learn the trade through hands-on training, classroom instruction (as applicable), and daily field experience. The HVAC Apprentice is expected to work safely, follow direction, and steadily build technical skills while contributing to jobsite productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Assist technicians with HVAC system installs, service calls, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
Help with basic tasks such as carrying materials, setting equipment, running line sets, installing supports/hangers, and cleaning work areas.
Use hand and power tools safely; learn proper tool selection and maintenance.
Support troubleshooting by observing diagnostics, retrieving parts, and helping with component checks (filters, motors, capacitors, belts, thermostats, etc.).
Perform basic maintenance tasks under supervision (coil cleaning, filter changes, drain line clearing, lubrication, general inspections).
Learn to read work orders and, over time, assist with interpreting basic wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.
Follow all safety requirements, including PPE use, ladder safety, lockout/tagout (as assigned), and safe lifting practices.
Maintain professional conduct with customers and teammates; communicate job status and material needs to the lead technician.
Document time, materials, and job notes as directed; support inventory/parts organization on the truck or jobsite.
Participate in apprenticeship schooling/training programs and work toward required certifications.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Interest in pursuing a career in HVAC; enrollment in or willingness to enroll in an HVAC apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn HVAC concepts and tools.
Ability to work in heat/cold, tight spaces, and on ladders/rooftops (as required by jobsite).
Able to lift and carry materials (often up to 50 lbs) and perform physical work throughout the day.
Strong reliability, punctuality, and willingness to take direction and learn.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (if driving is required).
OSHA 10 preferred (or willingness to obtain).
EPA Section 608 certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe).

Job Summary:
The Mechanic Level I reports directly to the Service Center Manager. His/her primary duties are to inspect, diagnose, and repair lift trucks. The incumbent must know how to use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and test in order to arrive at a correct diagnosis. Once determination of problem is made, the Mechanic I will schedule and perform the work necessary to make such repairs, which may include working on gasoline, diesel, and propane engines, repair cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems using diagnostic tools as needed. The incumbent will also be required to perform preventative maintenance as needed to improve the condition and performance of equipment. The incumbent will plan and coordinate large repair projects, estimating time, and material needed. He/she will diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems and will have the ability to fabricate and weld as needed to repair equipment. The incumbent will ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. He/she will maintain records of all maintenance performed. This incumbent will consult with the Service Center Manager if problems are encountered that require more expert analysis or if instruction/assistance is needed for new or unusual situations that may develop. He/she will keep the work area clean and maintain the garage area as needed. As requested by the supervisor, he/she may perform other related duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Inspect lift trucks to determine the extent of repairs.
Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems. Plan and coordinate large repair projects, estimating time and material needed for work. Perform needed repairs on gasoline, diesel, and propane engines.
Inspect, adjust, and repair components as needed.
Repair cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems using diagnostic tools.
Perform preventative maintenance as need to improve condition and performance of equipment.
Operate equipment to troubleshoot and test equipment as needed.
Maintain records of all maintenance performed.
Ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining garage area as needed.
Other related duties as required.

Education and Experience:
Some vocational or formal education in hydraulics and diesel engine repair.
