Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Basic Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, including OSHA, TCEQ, NSPS, NESHAPS, and USEPA standards; familiarity with Subparts and Tank standards, operating requirements, associated reporting obligations, and other areas
Proven experience in conducting air emissions calculations and regulatory reporting
Competency in navigating regulatory resources, databases, and government compliance portals
Solid understanding of applicable environmental regulations in the context of project scopes, deliverables, and client operations
Strong foundation in math and science principles, including unit conversions, data analysis, and formula applications
Hands-on experience with two or more leading EHS/Sustainability software platforms (e.g., Cority, Enablon, Intelex, Sphera, Velocity)
Proficiency in project support and reporting tools such as ArcGIS, BEEST, TRI-ME, SQL, Oracle, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, CRM systems Zendesk and Salesforce
Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and time/expense tracking systems
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills--both verbal and written--with a knack for translating complex technical information into clear, actionable insights
Willingness to travel 20% or more for client engagements, conferences, and industry events

The APTIM Coastal Sciences & Engineering and Program & Construction Management Teams are multidisciplinary specializing in all aspects of beach nourishment, shoreline protection projects, coastal and marine mapping, coastal resiliency, sea-level rise work, design services, pre-construction, waterfront construction, and substructure rehabilitation. APTIM's engineers, program managers, construction managers, biologists, geologists, surveyors, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialists work with both government, city, state, and private clients on a wide range of environmental and marine construction projects.
APTIM is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and personable senior marine engineer with experience in design and construction services primarily focusing on marine & waterfront, substructure rehabilitation, shoreline stabilization, and flood wall. Other areas of focus are beach renourishment, inlet management studies, coastal structures, living shorelines, and coastal resiliency. This position will be the technical lead on marine engineering, design services, and work with the program & construction management team to provide leadership in the development of the business and assist in the management and mentoring of existing staff. This position has tremendous growth and career development potential for a passionate and experienced professional.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ The candidate selected will report to the Director of Coastal Sciences and Engineering and have the opportunity to build a marine construction and engineering team to execute challenging waterfront projects in New York City
+ Strong quantitative skillsets to support coastal/waterfront projects
+ Lead project teams in conducting the design process for engineering projects from feasibility studies to detailed final designs
+ Independently conduct engineering analyses and apply marine engineering tools for the design and formulation of resilient coastal protection projects
+ Perform project management activities in a lead role being responsible for scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, sub-consultants and client
+ Prepare standard contract documents, such as technical specifications, engineering reports, regulatory applications and other technical documents
+ Participate in business development and marketing activities and write proposals targeting various marine engineering and oversight opportunities in the region
+ Contributing to and providing presentations for conferences and technical organizations
+ Coordinate work with other marine engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline and with support services staff
+ Conduct field work including site inspections, surveys, and construction observations
+ Collaborate on building innovative tools, technology, and products
+ Interpret contract documents and perform contract administration.
+ Manage individual tasks and small projects while also working collaboratively as part of a team for larger or multi-disciplinary projects
+ Independently manage multiple project schedules and deliverables
+ Grow and lead existing and new client relationships
**Representative Projects:**
+ Rehabilitation projects such as piers, seawalls, flood walls, bulkheads, rip rap, and waterfront adjacent structures
+ Coastal and marine structures such as jetties, groins, bulkheads, seawalls, revetments, docks, boat ramps, breakwaters, and piers
+ Adaptation plans and resiliency strategies
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ 7+ years of coastal engineering experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field required
+ Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of New York or the ability to be licensed within 90 days of hire
+ In depth understanding of the marine and shoreline environment in New York City
+ Demonstrated ability to work with diverse data sets (preferred candidate will have some experience in any of the following: CAD, GIS, Matlab coding)
+ Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in designing projects
+ Demonstrated history of technical leadership, mentoring, and independent success
+ Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environment
+ Demonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written English
+ Have a passion for working in a consulting firm environment on various types of projects
+ Experience with preparation of proposals, selection presentations and business development
+ Willingness to travel in support of business and project activities
