Conga company history timeline
Apttus was founded in 2006 by Kirk Krappe, Neehar Giri, and Kent Perkocha.
Apttus launched in 2007 and it was profitable for over seven years.
The company was bootstrapped and took no outside funding until 2013, when it raised $37 million in Series A financing from a group of investors including K1 Capital, ICONIQ, and Salesforce.
Interestingly, Salesforce participated in that round of funding despite acquiring a rival of Apttus called SteelBrick at the end of 2015.
Apttus was hitting a $120 million revenue run rate as of 2015, but the company could not offer comment on the updated numbers.
Despite publicly discussing the likelihood of an initial public offering in 2016, Apttus never went public before being acquired by Thoma Bravo.
Thoma Bravo took a majority stake in Apttus in September 2018.
