Required Skills:

The Impact of a Director, Analytics Engineering at Coupa:
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands‑on Director of Analytics Engineering to lead our Analytics Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of relevant experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, and team leadership. They should excel at building scalable data products, have excellent business relationship management skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. What You'll Do:
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and oversee the Analytics Engineering team, including analytics engineers and Tableau developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
Build and scale a high‑performing analytics function that delivers reliable, scalable data products to support business needs.

Analytics Engineering & Data Modeling

What You'll Bring to Coupa:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully leading and managing high‑performing analytics teams.
Technical Expertise
Expert‑level proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and optimization (required).
Strong experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modeling (required).
Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
Deep understanding of Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Fivetran, Stitch, or Airflow.

As a Senior Director of GTM Finance at Conga, you'll lead the strategic partnership between Finance and our Sales and Marketing organizations. Influence change. You take the initiative to understand the business's needs and challenges, maybe more than they understand it themselves. You form quality, robust recommendations through the knowledge you acquire, data sources, and existing processes - and you use those recommendations to create scalable solutions that will help immediately and in the future. You've worked hands-on with FP&A relational databases, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), and Salesforce reporting.
You've facilitated due diligence or assisted in corporate development processes such as M&A, capital raises, etc.

As Conga's Vice President of Architecture, you'll define and evolve the enterprise architecture for our cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform. This role blends strategic vision with hands-on architectural leadership, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Security, and Operations leaders to ensure our platform remains scalable, secure, and extensible as the business grows.
You'll play a central role in shaping how Conga's technology foundation supports rapid innovation today while enabling long-term growth.

Are you the person we're looking for?
Technology & Architectural Strategy. You'll set the long-term architectural direction for Conga's SaaS platform, defining principles, standards, and a roadmap that aligns technology strategy with product and business goals. You'll evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption where it creates real value, helping teams make informed decisions that scale.
This includes:
Defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture roadmap
Establishing architectural standards and best practices
Guiding technology strategy across product lines
Platform & System Architecture. You'll lead the design of scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems that power Conga's core platform. This includes ownership of high-level architecture for APIs, data pipelines, integration frameworks, identity management, and observability, while ensuring systems meet availability, performance, cost, and maintainability goals.
Leadership & Collaboration. You'll mentor and lead a team of architects while partnering closely with engineering leaders to maintain alignment across teams. You'll work alongside product management to evaluate feasibility and define technical direction, and collaborate with security, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure architectures meet reliability and compliance requirements.
Governance, Security & Execution. You'll guide architecture and design reviews, create reusable patterns and reference architectures, and promote engineering quality through documentation and oversight. You'll also ensure architectures support strong security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity, balancing innovation with pragmatic execution to meet delivery timelines.
Leadership & Mindset. You're a senior technology leader who knows how to set a clear architectural vision while staying grounded in execution. You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and guide teams through complex architectural decisions with clarity and confidence.
You thrive in fast-paced environments and understand how to balance innovation with stability as platforms scale.
Related Experience. You bring deep technical and leadership experience building and evolving modern SaaS platforms.
12-15+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years in architecture leadership roles
Proven track record architecting scalable, cloud-native SaaS platforms
Experience leading enterprise-level modernization and architectural transformation efforts
Private Equity experience. You've operated in a private equity-backed environment and understand the pace, rigor, and expectations that come with value creation, operational discipline, and scaling for growth.
Technical Expertise. You have deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, API design, cloud infrastructure, and data architecture. You're experienced with platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, and are comfortable balancing high-level strategy with hands-on problem solving when needed.

Listed below is the U.S. base salary range for this full-time position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, or training. In addition to base salary, Conganeers receive a variable incentive pay component, perks such as flexible work options, and a full range of benefits including medical and dental insurance.
The posted salary ranges are for the expectations outlined in the . We are often open to a wide variety of profiles and sometimes have flexibility within our organizational structure to adjust the role responsibilities up or down should we select a candidate that is less or more experienced than the posted job requirements. In these occasional cases, we will communicate the revised salary range to the candidate during the selection process.
