AquaCal Heat Pumps company history timeline

1982

In 1982, the company developed plans for a new building to suit future needs.

1983

The company facilities were doubled to 40,000 square feet (3,716 square meters). It purchased property (2 acres), designed the warehouse and office facilities, and built the building in 1983- 84.

1985

In 1985, HORNER EQUIPMENT INTERNATIONAL was expanded through the acquisition of DISCUS INC., a Palo Alto, California worldwide exporter from Hank Mohr.

1989

Also, in 1989, the Company received a Trademark for its Team HornerTM Logo.

1990

In September 1990, Team HornerTM continued its expansion with the acquisition of Felicella Consulting Engineers.

1992

In September, 1992, the Company purchased a 63,000 Square Foot (5,853 meters), three (3) building facility with 200 parking places adjacent to the main headquarters in Ft.

1993

In July 1993, AquaCal® expanded into the Air Conditioning industry, acquiring the fixed assets, tooling and production designs for an Air Conditioning Condensing Unit from the Glow Core Corp., Cleveland, Ohio.

1995

In July 1995, Lectranator Company was renamed AutoPilot Systems, Inc.

1996

In January 1996, ® formed Kent, Lockwood & Stein, a licensed, bonded, registered and insured Collection Agency/Information Service.

1997

In October 1997, Horner Consulting Engineering and Horner Discus moved to a new, 10,000 square foot (929 sq. meters) office facility within the ® campus.

1999

In April 1999, AquaCal® acquired the manufacturing rights of Komfort Industries of Ft.

2000

AquaCal Australia’s business was at first transferred to Hurlcon Pty., Ltd., an Australian Company, in April 2000.

In November 2000, AquaCal Europe re-opened a field sales office in Paris, France.

The Leadership 2000 program offers outside resource speakers on pertinent business topics, plus an issues session for the discussion of specific business problems.

2001

In November 2001, AquaCal® purchased a third building (7,500 square feet) increasing the total factory building space to 61,000 square feet (6,100 square meters).

2002

In August/September 2002, six Company-owned Branches were opened throughout Florida, making our Whole Distribution business truly “State Wide”. Branches were opened in Naples, Manasota, Tampa, Orlando, St Augustine, and Ft.

In December 2002, AquaCal® began manufacturing heat pumps as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for other companies.

2003

In February 2003, a HornerXpress® branch opened in Nashville, Tennessee.

In November 2003, Bill Kent became President and Chairman of the Board of the National Swimming Pool Foundation, with headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

2004

In March 2004, the Engineering partnership with Mr.

In November 2004, in concert with the closing of the Nashville branch, Lo-Chlor® opened a regional sales office in Nashville, with Connie Sue Centrella as the Regional Sales Manager.

2005

In May 2005, HornerXpress® purchased a 2 acre site in Jacksonville, Florida, and built a 25,000 sq. ft. building to relocate the HX First Coast branch.

2006

In January 2006, the first person graduated with this degree.

AutoPilot® manufacturing moved to St Petersburg factory under the leadership of Jeff Tawney in July 2006.

In September 2006 the office was closed; later, the Köln warehouse was closed and moved to Lyon, France.

Andrew Simons from Lo-Chlor Australia was our partner in this Company until he passed away in 2006.

2007

The plane was sold in March 2007.

2008

The grand opening was held in June 2008.

AquaCal® began making the Angelfire Heat Pump as an OEM in December 2008.

2010

During the spring of 2010, the AutoPilot® “NANO” was introduced.

2011

Production began in June 2011 at the St Petersburg factory.

2012

In April 2012, AquaCal® purchased large injection molding equipment for use in making subassembly components.

In November 2012, Barkan Hot Yoga, located in Boca Raton was opened.

In December 2012, first production occurred at the Injection Molding Facility at AquaCal®.

In the fall of 2012, the Color Me Healthy (CMH) employeed wellness program was started under the leadership of Kim Kent.

2013

In May 2013, AquaCal® began producing heat pumps for Jandy, a division of Zodiac, one of the top producers of swimming pool equipment in the world.

In September 2013, the BackyardXpo Sales Team was created under the Leadership of Chris Piercy to focus on sales of hardscape and construction products.

2015

In January 2015 StoneHardscapes and BackyardXpo Sales Teams combined under the leadership of Pamela Luciani, General Manager and Chris Piercy, Sales Manager.

As of July, 2015, the TEAM employs over 500 employees, occupies a total of 500,000 square feet (50,000 square meters) of space, represents over 140 different manufacturers; repackages pool chemicals and accessories (TropiClear® brand); and stocks approximately 6,000 inventory items.

2016

In May, 2016, HornerXpress® Worldwide closed their office in France.

In October, 2016, the Color Me Healthy program expanded its offering by building a new fitness center on the fort Lauderdalde campus.

2017

In August, 2017, Bill Kent was elected Chairman of the Borad of the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale.

2018

In August, 2018, AquaCal® purchased its 9th building at the St Petersburg facility.

2019

In March, 2019, AquaCal® purchased its 10th building at the St Petersburg facility.
