Michael Baker is seeking a Civil Engineering Associate I (Construction) for our Baltimore, (Linthicum) Maryland office. Generally assigned to Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) projects, The Construction Inspector will be responsible for monitoring the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for bridge projects with an emphasis on bridge painting/coating removal, preparation, and application as well as minor structural steel repairs. Other inspector assignments may involve facility, building, roadway, structure, and transportation construction/renovation projects of moderate to considerable complexity and ensure compliance with contract drawings and specifications. Candidate coordinates various phases of construction with the prime contractor/subcontractors and agency personnel; reviews and monitors contractor plan of operation; and advises contractors of violations and recommends adjustments to operations.
