Adrian Adams was appointed POZEN’s Chief Executive Offer and elected to its Board of Directors on June 1, 2015. Prior to joining POZEN, Mr. Adams served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from December 2011 until its acquisition by Endo International plc in January 2015 for $2.6 billion. Under his leadership, Auxilium transformed into a men’s healthcare company and broadened its portfolio from two to twelve through the strategic corporate acquisition of Actient Holding LLC and product in-licensing. Prior to joining Auxilium, Mr. Adams served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Neurologix, Inc., a company focused on development of multiple innovative gene therapy development programs. John has recently joined Achelios as Chief Medical Officer and VP of Clinical Operations. John was the former head of clinical development at Pozen, the pharmaceutical company that developed the migraine therapy TreximetTM. At Pozen, John was a member of executive leadership team and managed all clinical activities through phase 3 and worked with regulatory agencies in the US and EU. Prior to Pozen, John was Vice-President of Clinical Affairs at Adalor working in the gastrointestinal area. He started his clinical development career at Searle, directing the development of the COX 2 inhibitor Celebrex. John has a M.D. from the University of Valencia, Spain and was a fellow at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He also has an M.B.A. from Temple University.
