Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Licensed Psychiatric Technician performs general nursing procedures, behavior management, direct care and training as dictated by the individuals' health and behavioral care needs. Responsible for ensuring that nursing care and directives are carried out in the home as directed by the 962 Program Administrator. Responsible for ensuring that any suspicion of or knowledge of suspected abuse is reported in accordance with the law and program policies. “Mandated Reporter” (SOC 341).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures that self and staff adhere to all Elwyn California Policies and Procedures, standards of care and complies with all regulatory requirements Maintains a safe, sanitary and therapeutic environment for all individuals served Ensures that the Health Care Plan is implemented Provides adequate staff supervision Documents and reports all events as required by DDS, Regional Center Training of staff on clinical aspects of healthcare Ensures the proper level of equipment and supplies are maintained Ensures proper documentation is maintained Respects at all times the confidentiality of residential records and uses complete discretion when discussing information. Maintains communication with Program Administrator, families, hospitals etc. Other related duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Prefer one year experience in a residential setting for persons with developmental disabilities. Minimum one year recent medical surgical experience required. Must hold valid or else complete a DOJ and FBI fingerprint and criminal clearance. Must have a current, within one year of hire or within 7 days after hire, a health screening including a TB test. Previous supervisory experience preferred including strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills. Computer skills required. Active Professional Nurse (RN) Licensure in good standing in the State of California. Thirty continuing education credits every two years to maintain licensure or as required to meet the minimum standards or California licensure. Bachelor's degree preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record

Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Licensed Vocational Nurse performs general nursing procedures, behavior management, direct care and training as dictated by the individuals' health and behavioral care needs. The LVN may function as lead staff on the shift and may oversee direct care staff. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform all procedures within LVN scope of practice. Assists and teaches residents self-care, self-administration of medications, and independent living skills including but not limited to bathing, dressing, feeding, and grooming. Assists and trains residents in activities of daily living, personal hygiene, and household activities, including but not limited to grocery shopping, food preparation, serving and clean-up. Implements Behavior Plans and Health Care Plans. May participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in designated aspects of the development and implementation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP) and IPP outcomes, and overall programming for residents. Assists residents in occupational, recreational, vocational, and therapeutic programs. Maintains a safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment which promotes respect and dignity for residents and protects the privacy, rights, confidentiality, and physical/emotional well-being of residents. Engages residents in activities that provide opportunities for learning and practice of skills tailored to the specific needs of the resident. Assists and teaches residents in the constructive use of leisure time. Encourages residents to participate in planned recreational activities. Actively supervises during dining, recreational activities, medical and other appointments. Knows and reports the whereabouts of the assigned residents at all times. Transports residents in the company vehicle to medical, recreational and/or other appointments. Attends staff meetings including but not limited to in-services and training sessions. Maintains all required trainings and certifications as required by regulations and Elwyn California. Reports and documents behavior/medical concerns and other special incidents to proper supervisory personnel. Remains on duty until relieved by incoming staff. Consistently demonstrates the ability to maintain quality assurance standards and promotes Elwyn California goals and objectives in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Continually works with staff members in creating a professional and amiable atmosphere; encourages and supports co-workers to work as a team. Provides ongoing constructive feedback to DSPs and CNAs as needed when acting as the lead staff on shift. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changes in workload. Assists with health care and/or behavioral needs and documents appropriately. Completes assigned work in a timely manner and strives to make good use of time. Gives feedback to Program Administrator and/or shift lead regarding any issues affecting home operations and resident care; including immediate notification of any changes in care needs. Seeks help and/or guidance from co-workers and/or shift lead as appropriate. Responds to emergencies appropriately as directed by all health/behavior plans, regulations, and/or policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED. Possess and maintain a valid, active license from the State of California to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician. Minimum 1 year experience with Human Services field preferred. Must complete a DOJ and FBI fingerprint and criminal clearance and be free of convictions barring employment in this position under applicable statute or regulation. Must have a valid health screening with clear TB test within 1 year prior to hire or no later than 7 days after hire. Upon hire, must complete all trainings as required by applicable regulations, including but not limited to: DSP1, DSP2, First Aid, CPR/AED certifications.
