Phil Liu is Chief Legal Officer at Arca. In his role, Phil oversees product structuring and ensures legal compliance for Arca’s crypto investment management platform. A finance industry veteran with over 20 years experience, Phil has worked has worked with some of the world’s biggest banks and law firms. Phil previously served as General Counsel at a leading managed futures asset management company and was responsible for the legal structuring of the first actively managed, managed futures mutual fund. Phil holds a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting from the University of British Columbia.

Deborah is the CCO & Deputy General Counsel at Arca. She oversees all compliance programs and provides legal support to the Chief Legal Officer. Deborah joined Arca with nearly 30 years of experience in legal, compliance, and regulatory roles in traditional finance and digital assets. Previously, she supported digital assets businesses in the SaaS, custody, and crypto exchange trading spaces. Deborah also served as a regulatory attorney (CFTC, SEC, PCX). She holds a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Michigan. Deborah is licensed to practice law in CA, IL, and NY.

Kathryn is Chief of Staff at Arca. Kathryn works with Arca’s leadership team to support the delivery of Arca’s strategic priorities and initiatives, oversee employee experience and firm culture, and manage the day-to-day operations of Arca’s offices in Los Angeles and New York. Kathryn is a generalist with over 20 years of experience in operations and client support services. Before Arca, she was the executive assistant to Managing Director and General Counsel at the Rhone Group, a transatlantic middle-market private equity firm, and has worked at leading financial services and startups including Morgan Stanley, KKR, and GreenX.

Michael Dershewitz is Chief Operating Officer for Arca Funds. With more than two decades of finance and investing experience, he is responsible for fund launches, corporate development, and strategic partnerships. Michael is also a Portfolio Manager for the Arca Venture Funds, where he leads sourcing, analysis, and deal execution. Michael joined Arca in March 2021 from Amazon’s Corporate Development team, where he led investments and acquisitions in software and transportation. Previously, Michael was Portfolio Manager and Head of Research at fixed-income manager Brencourt Advisors, management consultant at McKinsey, and investment banker at JP Morgan. Michael earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and degrees in Finance and Computer Science from The University of Virginia.

Sumana Maitra is a Chief Marketing Officer at Arca Solutions and is based in Los Angeles, California. She has worked as Director of Digital Marketing at Harvest Exchange, Marketing Intern at Stitcher, and Marketing Intern at Hooked Media Group. Sumana attended University of California - UC Berkeley until 2009.

Vance Sanders is Chief Financial Officer at Arca, leading the finance, operations, and compliance efforts for the corporate and fund entities. Vance has over 25 years of progressive financial management experience. He previously spent 10 years in the managed futures industry as CFO and CTO, directing corporate finance, technology, and fund operations for an asset management firm operating a platform of managed future mutual funds with over $2 billion of assets under management. Vance is a Colorado CPA (inactive) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Missouri Southern University.
