Role description: Arcadis is currently searching for a Senior Mechanical Construction Inspector, with 15+ years' experience, to join our Water Construction Management team in our San Francisco, CA office, supporting a project in Orinda, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified consulting firms in the country. The Senior Mechanical Construction Inspector will utilize their prior experience and expertise in mechanical construction field management, QA / QC, and report documentation on various construction projects, and will report to the Resident Engineer for the project. Role accountabilities: The Senior Mechanical Construction Inspector will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, observing construction activities, and ensuring contractor compliance with contract requirements. Daily duties include conducting mechanical building inspections, preparing reports with photographic documentation, developing punch lists, and participating in project schedule and invoice reviews. The role involves maintaining quality assurance standards, monitoring code compliance, and identifying deviations from contract documents while professionally communicating necessary corrections to contractors. Safety compliance with Arcadis and project guidelines is also a key responsibility. The Senior Mechanical Construction Inspector will review contractor submittals, verify shop drawing adherence, and oversee equipment alignment, testing, and commissioning. Documentation of material or installation non-compliance is required, along with attendance at contractor coordination meetings. Additional responsibilities include monitoring large diameter buried piping, mechanical equipment, and process piping installations. Key attributes: The candidate possesses strong oral and written communication skills and excels at analyzing and organizing complex data. They demonstrate a high level of mathematical aptitude and problem-solving ability, consistently offering innovative solutions. With solid time management and multitasking capabilities, they effectively handle multiple priorities. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: * 15 years' experience. * Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, a related field of study or a HS Diploma along with Continuing Education Diploma or Certification in Construction. * Experience with mechanical construction inspection activities on medium to large-sized heavy mechanical construction projects. * Proficient in MS Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Preferred Qualifications: * 20+ years of utility/mechanical construction inspection experience. * Associate's degree in Construction Management or Engineering Technology. * Buried piping and water treatment plant construction experience. * Mechanical/HVAC installation experience * OSHA 10 Safety, Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection Training. * Water/Wastewater experience. In summary, an ideal candidate for the position would have proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication skills, a focus on health and safety, and excellent teambuilding and organizational abilities.
