Role description:
Arcadis is currently seeking a Scheduler to join our Contract Solutions team in our Places business unit in Southern California (preference for Los Angeles or Orange County).

Role accountabilities:
* Helping in the development of project schedule.

* Collecting and recording real time schedule and performance data including installed quantities, expended labor hours, and other progress measurements for direct hire and subcontracted work.

Qualifications & Experience:

Role description:
Arcadis has an immediate need for an Asbestos and Lead Inspector/Monitor on our Regulated Building Material and Industrial Hygiene team in the Los Angeles area. The role includes performing field work for asbestos and lead-related projects, such as inspections, abatement monitoring/oversight, air sampling and onsite analysis. Additional tasks may also include indoor air quality (IAQ)/mold investigations, building characterization assessments, and report writing.
The position requires candidate to have a valid state of California Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) asbestos credential and a valid state of California Lead Sampling Technician credential. The location will be based out of either our Los Angeles or Irvine offices, with project sites throughout the greater Southern California area. Project specific training will be provided by Arcadis, as needed.
Role accountabilities:
* Routinely interact/communicate with Arcadis' project managers, and leaders; abatement contractors; consultants; and client personnel to ensure on time and satisfactory performance on projects.
* Manage and self-perform tasks associated with inspections/surveys and abatement monitoring for asbestos, lead, mold (water intrusion), IAQ, and other regulated building materials at a variety of facilities including but not limited to: commercial, public schools, financial, retail, industrial, chemical, manufacturing, oil/gas, electrical, etc.
* Provide detailed written and/or electronic project field notes, sampling summaries for work conducted.
* Travel to project locations in the greater Southern California area on a daily basis. Also, travel longer distances, with the potential for overnight stays, as required.
* Employees are expected to be flexible as work hours may include nights and weekends, or extended work beyond 8 hours depending on the project.

Role Description:
Arcadis seeks a Roadway Construction Inspector to join the team in California to perform a wide variety of professional engineering work in a field setting; This work is performed on highway construction projects involving bridges, retaining walls, barriers, drainage structures, sign structures, concrete paving, asphalt paving, pedestrian facilities, striping, soil excavations and grading, landscape, and irrigation.
The Roadway Construction Inspector may allocate inspection resources and supervise inspectors on complex projects for the appropriate disciplines including utilities, geotechnical, civil roadway, structural, electrical, duct bank, landscape and irrigation, and communications.
Role Accountabilities:
Inspects each stage of construction up to completion. Interprets plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with all applicable governing codes and regulations.
Monitors construction sites for safety violations. Prepares Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards. Maintains daily inspection reports with photographs, crews, equipment, material on site, and descriptions of the work. Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments. Monitors contractor-testing activities. Determines construction conforms to plans and specifications.
Conduct quality surveillance of specific quality-related activities as necessary. Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with CalOSHA, IIPP, and Job Specific Safety Plans for safety rules, policies, and procedures. Perform weekly job site safety inspections and reports.
Ensure activity and jobsite traffic control conforms with plans, specifications, and all governing laws and requirements.
Coordinate preparation of inspection survey reports, cost estimates, and maintenance records. Timely submittals of these reports and records.
Arranges, coordinates, and oversee technical inspections such as electrical, landscaping, irrigation, soil testing, concrete, asphalt, and reinforcing steel for conformance to specification requirements.
Coordinates test laboratory activities and compares verifications of test results with results from the Contractor's laboratory.

Required Qualifications:

Arcadis is on the lookout for a dynamic Lead Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) System Design Engineer to join our cutting-edge Resilience Water team. Role accountabilities:
As the Lead Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) System Design Engineer you will take a leadership role in driving I&C and SCADA design and implementation services across the West Region, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects in environmental remediation, industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment, and conveyance systems. This position involves developing and executing SCADA and digital solutions strategies, contributing to proposal development, and delivering high-quality engineering and construction documentation.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce comprehensive technical deliverables, including system architecture, P&IDs, network diagrams, control narratives, and panel layouts. You will mentor junior staff, support project planning and budgeting, and integrate electrical design to support I&C systems. From initial concept through startup and turnover, you will apply deep technical expertise to program PLCs, configure HMI platforms, manage data collection and reporting, and author precise specifications. Regional travel for client engagement and site visits is expected.
Key Skills and Attributes:
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in AutoCAD and Revit, along with the ability to manage multiple assignments independently while meeting critical project deadlines. Proven experience leading diverse teams and collaborating effectively is essential, as are excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook, is expected. The role requires advanced expertise in applying instrumentation and controls to process and electromechanical equipment, as well as designing SCADA networks, fiber optic cable systems, and radio/cellular telemetry networks. A working knowledge of IT and industrial networks is also beneficial. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and be willing to travel up to 25% for client meetings, site visits, and collaboration across Arcadis offices.

15+ years of I&C, Automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience in water/wastewater market.
California Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Summer Internship Program Overview
The Summer Internship Program is open to applicants who are planning careers in architecture, structural & sustainable engineering, urban planning, graphic design, or interior design. Spend the summer learning from experts in all of our design disciplines, building your design and visualization skills and contributing to world class design projects. Summer Interns participate in a wide range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events.

Desired skills and expertise
Current student in an accredited bachelor's program or master's degree program in interiors, architecture or related field of study and returning to school in the Fall of 2026.

Position Responsibilities
Leads the Architectural Project Team through close collaboration with SOM Partners project leadership to achieve design, technical and financial success.
Prepares, with Leadership input, quality agreements with clients including letters of intent, memoranda of understanding, and professional service agreements. Executes additional service agreements and gains authorization by phase.
Collaborates with Partners and senior team to prepare, issue, and manage compliance plans to align project goals including budget, deliverables and schedule. Gains agreement with the senior team for labor allocation. Chairs weekly team meetings to address variances from the project plan.
Administers internal control procedures with Project Accountant including billing, collections, percent complete, expense management, and year-end activities. Analyzes project reports and proactively manages the profitability of a project.
Participates actively in project design and technical discussions and decision making.
Communicates actively through chairing weekly meetings, issuing meeting minutes, accurate project record keeping and sharing project information and correspondence.
Assists in Managing the owner/client relationship and expectations to allow SOM and team to work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively.
Participated in new business and marketing efforts including responses to marketing requests and maintenance of firm relationships.
