I have a friend that is in their Cleveland office. She is staying just till she hits her one year so she doesn't have to pay back a sign on bonus and relocation money she received. She had interned with them and and accepted an engineering position with them. But the company is having serious financial hardships. Raises and promotions are just about nonexistent and the culture is to cut everything to save money. Just something you can consider before jumping onboard with them. When young in your career you want to be with a company that is growing like crazy and has lots of opportunities for you to move up and succeed. You also want a company that is making money hand over fist and they are passing that down as bonuses and raises. Unfortunately that is the last thing the steel industry is doing right now. Just make sure you are dead set on this company and the steel industry because there are many better industries to get started in that have better long term growth. Just don't set yourself out on the wrong foot or your be looking to "start over" like she is right now
Thanks for the tips, all that really does make sense. Do you have any ideas for industries that are growing and there is also a need for a lot of supply chain jobs?
