The ideal candidate will lead the design and execution of ArcelorMittal Calvert's annual SOX compliance program, ensuring effective internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to support the company's SOX certification. This role involves conducting in-depth assessments across a wide range of business processes, participating in annual scoping and risk assessments, and supporting and meeting ArcelorMittal Calvert's business goals. The Basics * Bachelor's degree is required in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, and 5+ years of job-related experience is required. * Working knowledge of SAP applications. * Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations at senior management and executive level. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel. * Demonstrated expertise in accounting and finance principles, along with advanced proficiency in financial systems and technology platforms. Strong orientation toward risk management and internal control practices is essential. * In-depth knowledge of the COSO internal control framework and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements is required, with proven experience implementing and maintaining related controls. The Extras * Prior Big 4 accounting firm experience is an asset. * At least one advanced professional designation (e.g. CPA, CMA, MBA, CGA, CIA, CISA) is preferred. Two or more professional designations are an asset. * Advanced Knowledge in AuditBoard is an asset. * Sound working knowledge of large ERP systems preferably SAP modules FI & CO. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: * Provide training to co-workers and help maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Best Practices and Job Safe Practices to ensure the transfer of knowledge to others. * Act as the primary point of contact for SOX compliance at ArcelorMittal Calvert, overseeing unit-level coordination and execution. * Lead the annual SOX compliance program for the unit, aligning with the company's overall SOX governance standards and global calendar. * Partner with segment and corporate SOX teams to ensure consistency in expectations, methodologies, remediation efforts, and reporting practices. * Conduct the annual SOX account risk assessment and establish SOX priorities and workplan for the unit. * Coordinate and support SOX walkthroughs, control testing, and audit evidence collection in partnership with internal and external auditors. * Partner with the IT department to ensure appropriate IT controls design for current and future state processes and implementation. * Perform severity assessments and collaborate with process/control owners to ensure timely remediation of identified control deficiencies or audit findings. * Maintain and update SOX documentation in AuditBoard, including risk and control matrices (RCMs), process narratives, flowcharts, and evidence of control execution. Monitor changes in business processes, systems, or personnel to evaluate and update control design as needed. * Create and draft new processes and control documentation as needed, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected and compliant with SOX requirements. * Provide training, communication, and guidance to control owners and stakeholders on SOX compliance requirements and internal control best practices. * Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing processes, creating efficiencies or new processes as required. * Demonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability. * Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. * Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment. * Demonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect. * Ensure working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001 (current version), IATF 16949 (current version), and ISO 17025 (current version). We are seeking applicants to join our team at the new Steelmaking facility located at ArcelorMittal Calvert. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the ground-up construction of an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Slabs Caster facility. This opportunity will give team members a chance to set a new standard for safety, quality, and production in the steel making industry, not just in the United States, but Worldwide. The ideal candidate will provide operations support by operating steelmaking equipment and maintaining good quality steel within the highly automated Slab Caster to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert. The Basics: * High School Diploma or GED required * 2+ years of experience working in a Caster * Advanced knowledge of tools and equipment used for industrial purposes, to include cranes, fork trucks, heavy machinery, and hand and power tools required * Basic math and reading comprehension skills * Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word) The Extras: * Previous experience working in steel manufacturing preferred * Certification in operation of heavy machinery such as fork truck, crane, etc. desired TRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFUL * Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments * Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives * Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement * Makes good and timely decisions to keep the organization moving forward WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Operate steelmaking equipment to include Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), Ladle Metallurgy Furnace (LMF), RH degasser, and continuous caster * Collaborate with furnace operator to control and maintain temperature of molten metal from furnaces * Observe slab quality and make necessary adjustments to casting conditions to correct defects * Ensure proper operation and maintenance of molten Tundish boxes * Enter and record necessary production records; Ensure finished slabs are properly identified * Make slab samples; Check temperature and observe tip oven as required * Set up tip assemblies and caster for operation; adjust as necessary for startup and during normal operations * Observe all safety rules, to include lock out procedures * Coordinate and work with mill personnel in maintaining mill production * Perform routine maintenance; assist maintenance personnel * Monitor and notify supervision and maintenance personnel of any abnormal job and equipment conditions * Operate and maintain mobile equipment to include fork trucks * Training will be provided YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT * Industrial setting in the Caster area of the Steelmaking facility * Indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with exposure to elevated noise levels and extreme heat; Will work around molten metal * Required to work at heights of up to 50 ft. * Personal protective equipment required * Located in the Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL * Shift Work - Rotating 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays * People with heart pacemakers or any there electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain effective technology and lead projects to optimize process and product capabilities, improve quality, productivity and cost (yield) within the highly automated Hot Dip Galvanizing lines to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert . The Basics: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering * Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant field * Background in major steel mill processes and products with in-depth knowledge of HDGL processes and technology * Knowledge of (metal coated) steel strip properties and applications * Understanding off heat and mass transfer, combustion, chemical reactions, and equilibrium (chemistry and chemical engineering fundamentals), metallurgy of steels, etc. * Demonstrated understanding of control systems, instrumentation, process models.
