R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Safety Hazmat Technician in our Columbiana, OH service center office. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required.
Requirements
40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required
Based on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment
equipment when required
Work effectively and communicate with team members and other departments
Inform the management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner
Update job notes daily
Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs.
Able to thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced team-supported environment
Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L
procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, and completing safety
documentation, and upholding R+L's high level of safety
Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities

Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance

What are the responsibilities of a Grounds Technician?
Responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of the apartment community
Upkeep on parking lots, grounds surrounding the buildings, corridors, stairwells, laundry rooms, and mechanical rooms, if applicable
Collecting and removing trash as needed
Weeding of beds using appropriate tools
Monitoring the irrigation system to ensure all grass areas are adequately watered
Repairing or replacing sprinkler heads and lines as required
Reporting any unhealthy lawn, trees, shrubs, and plants to management
Edging around trees and landscape borders to maintain a neat appearance
Raking grounds and blowing or sweeping sidewalks, and parking lots, as required
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
What are the role requirements?
Ability to shovel snow and/or clear ice from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt in those areas during snow season.
Ability to work outdoors in temperatures above 90 degrees or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and push or pull up to 80 pounds
Experience in irrigation is a plus
Maintain a professional appearance following team dress code policy
Able to effectively and professionally communicate with residents and co-workers

Prior industry experience preferred/ a plus, however we provide comprehensive training for motivated individuals with transferable skills.
Ability to operate a pickup truck and ATV.
