Your Opportunity
Join Stantec's Cultural Resources team in and around our Louisville, KY, Nashville, TN, Knoxville, TN, or Chattanooga, TN offices to play an integral role in lead doing archaeological survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring. Stantec is seeking ArchaeologicalFieldTechnicians to assist with upcoming fieldwork that will occur throughout the Southeast. These positions are per project based that may be up to 10-day stints.
Your Key Responsibilities
The position will primarily consist of fieldwork but may include exposure to a wider range of other duties including laboratory research and analysis. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to perform archaeologicalfieldwork tasks including controlled surface survey; shovel test survey; and excavation. Duties may also include cleaning, cataloging, photographing, and labeling artifacts recovered from surface collection and excavation.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Experience with completing inventory, survey, testing, and/or data recovery
* Previous experience with mapping equipment and other special application equipment (e.g., total station, GPS, etc.)
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Education and Experience
* B.A./B.S. in anthropology/archaeology or related field with sufficient experience
* Successful completion of an archaeologyfield school

* Ability to complete physically demanding tasks in remote areas and/or humid continental climate, including walking, hiking, carrying heavy loads, and digging
* Frequent out-of-town travel, potentially for extended periods of time

* Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehicles

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Arcadis is seeking entry-level Archaeologists to support environmental planning projects (e.g. linear infrastructure projects) within Ohio and surrounding states. This position will require a candidate to work collaboratively with the Arcadis cultural resources team. Arcadis offers a flexible working environment and follows a hybrid work structure. However, this position will be a field position, so the successful candidate can expect to work remotely at the project site location, as needed. The ability to travel to various project sites, including overnight travel, will be required (field work expectations are approximately 90 to 100%).
Role accountabilities:
As an Archaeologist, you will apply your technical knowledge to support archaeological services over a range of sectors, including linear utilities, oil and gas, mining, rail and transit, and renewable energies. You will be a key cultural resources team member and work as part of an interdisciplinary environmental team. You will be responsible for conducting archaeologicalfieldwork.
This will require a working knowledge of GPS systems and the ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, as well as carry supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. This will also require working in the field under a range of conditions (e.g., rugged and unfamiliar terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures).
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in anthropology/archaeology
1-2 years of experience in cultural resources management.
Demonstrated practical field experience within Ohio or surrounding states.
