1841

He succeeded in having all the former church lands restored to the church by an act of the Texas Legislature in 1841.

1874

He succeeded in having all the former church lands restored to the church by an act of the Texas Legislature in 1841. Thus, in 1874, everything west of the Colorado River became the Diocese of San Antonio de Bexar under Bishop Anthony Pellicer of Mobile, Ala.

1927

In 1927, he became the first archbishop of San Antonio and guided the church through the Depression.

1957

St Pius X Parish was formed on July 7, 1957 with Father Roy Rihn as its first pastor, and 315 families.

Our campus has grown since 1957.

1958

In 1958 a kindergarten class was opened and plans for a parish school were in full swing.

1970

In 1970, Father Patricio F. Flores of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston was named the auxiliary bishop to Archbishop Furey.

2003

Francis Cardinal George, OMI, Archbishop of Chicago, ordained him auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2003.
