    Essential Job Functions: * Takes sample products from trucks and railcars and seals such following completion of lab analysis, and loading to ensure correct content, volume, temperature and weights. * Seals outlet valves on cars. * Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements. * Properly records, closes, tightens and seals trucks and railcars loaded with sweeteners and starch after loading and inspection. * Cleans and sanitizes railcars and tanks using standard cleaning materials and procedures. * Uses computer programs ( ADMWEIGH and Honeywell DCS) to monitor loading operations. * Opens and seals hatches and unloading doors, cleaning and installing proper gaskets. * Operates valves, pumps and filler pipes, and transferring wet and dry products from holding facilities to transportation equipment. * Communicates with co-workers in person and using two-way radios or similar equipment. * Inspects interior of tanks for cleanliness and exterior for leaks or damage. * Monitors processes carefully to ensure the efficient transfer of product to transportation vehicles. * Verifies tank car numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate placement of cars by crew. * Fills out Inspection Reports after checking trucks and railcars. * Operates a rail locomotive, positioning cars in appropriate sequences to receive product. * Cleans up spills in area. * Completes related records of product transferred, ensuring the accuracy of such records and inputs related data into computer. * Performs preventive maintenance duties on department equipment or notifies department supervisor of needed repairs. * Prepares and presents bill of lading to the drivers of the loaded trucks. * Removes and replaces or gives directions to another worker to remove and replace dome caps, using wrenches. * Inspects rupture disc, vacuum relief valve, rubber gaskets on valves and cover plates, and replace defective parts, using wrenches. * When unloading cars, connects hose to outlet plugs on cars and attaches special dome, using wrenches. * Works in teams to coordinate tasks to efficiently and accurately load products into rail cars or trucks. * Operates skid loaders, forklift trucks, payloader, locomotive and related equipment. * Cleans and operates switch tracks in rail yards to move rail cars to proper tracks. * Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner at all times * Performs routine maintenance of department equipment such as checking oil levels, greasing hanger bearings, washing screens, pulling covers, working on baghouses, unplugging conveyor presses, and routine serving of the pay loader. * Inspects pump filters regularly, exchanging such for new filters as necessary. * Crosscheck scales on a weekly basis to maintain and verify accuracy. * Suggests improvements in work methods and procedures by attending staff meetings and discussing ideas with co-workers and management staff. * Attaches and operates densifier to the railcars when filling with starch product. * Pumps compressed air into car to test for leaks. * Shovels or otherwise removes excess product from loads as needed. * Assists and advises Traffic Coordinator of car situation. * Be able to communicate by using approved hand signals and two-way radios. * Assists in keeping the department in tour ready condition. * May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Technical field with 5 to 7 years of professional experience, or 10 + years of professional experience in lieu of a degree. Demonstrated equipment reliability knowledge. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience. Experience using an electronic Maintenance Repair Software System, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to perform maintenance and reliability studies and / or FMEA for existing and proposed replacement equipment. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate and work well with others. Work with site EH&S Team to resolve safety and regulatory issues. Delegate work assignments: monitor performance while providing feedback and recognition of results. Anticipate technological industry changes and review opportunities to enhance equipment and systems. Develop training and growth plans for the maintenance and electrical technicians. Help develop a moving 5-year Maintenance, Facilities and Equipment plan. Manage the project and process engineering group to complete capital plan and manage the process control systems in the plant.     ADM Corn Technology Center The Carbohydrate Solutions Wet Milling Technology Group position supports plant process areas related to the processing of corn in both a wet mill and dry mill. Primary department support will be for the Feed House and the Mill. Position Summary: * The Technology Engineer will apply engineering principles to new and existing facilities with tasks ranging from process design to the evaluation/implementation of new technologies. * The primary purpose of the position is to ensure plant process systems are designed, built, operated, and maintained at optimal levels. Essential Job Functions: * Display a dedication to lead, develop and support safety and promote a safety culture. Promote continuous process safety improvement. * Benchmark the location versus internal and external best available technologies and drive improvements. * Manage and prioritize the Wave portfolio in cooperation with the Plant Manager or Focused improvement pillar and/or the Director of Technology, where applicable. * Develop and maintain a 5-year project portfolio to include capital budgeting, execution and to strike a balance between NDE and productivity/growth. * Collaborate with the appropriate COE's to ensure alignment of technology. * Explore, propose and/or champion new process technologies and equipment suppliers. * Work within the Global Technology Center to standardize operations, share standard methodologies and implement new technologies. * Assist plant operations in solving applicable technical problems. * Support the facility in setting up goals. * Work closely with company subject matter experts on the implementation of innovative approaches to plant operation and maintenance. * Act as a resource for plant process engineers through coaching, mentoring, and conducting training sessions. * Create/revise process control narratives to support operations. Required Skills: * Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of others. * Strong knowledge of a variety of process unit operations. Some examples include: Wet and Dry Milling and Co-product processing. * Experience with optimization/analytical processes and tools. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant engineers and management. * Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs and control narratives. * Willingness to spend time in plant areas - tolerate extreme temperatures, walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces. * Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently while traveling to remote plant locations. * High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working. * Some travel with overnight stay required. Required Education: * Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Chemistry, Food Processing, Production Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, or other related field.
