Summary
This is an entry-level position which will be in a union workforce. You will gain knowledge of the facility, general department knowledge, and handle tasks through completion of tasks and look for ways to improve the process and personal performance. Production Specialists are expected to perform a variety of jobs, tasks or duties as assigned.
Job Duties
Grain and waste handling through scraping, shoveling, and sweeping up soybean product and byproduct
Maintain, monitor and adjust equipment
Utilize computer systems to input and record data as required in regard to safety, sanitation, maintenance and processing equipment operation
Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment
Communicate with team/shift employees concerning proper operation of equipment, changes in flow rates or processing capabilities safety concerns, product quality issues and maintenance issues
Rotate through all positions within a specified department to train associates and fill in as necessary
Operate forklifts
Understand and adhere to ADM's Safety, Environmental Compliance and Food Quality and goal of achieving a zero-injury culture
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Exhibit regular and prompt attendance and maintain attendance record in accordance with company policy
Operating equipment associated with the loadout and unloading process for bulk materials including trucks and/or rail cars, utilizing scales, pumps, conveyor, etc.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The Lincoln, Nebraska Soybean Processing Complex includes a power generation facility, soybean crushing plant, and a two oil refinery. This is a union facility with a workforce of approximately 140 employees. The role assists in leading day to day operations, tracking and understanding department costs, yields, quality, process performance and mentoring less experienced colleagues and engineers. This position is also responsible for process improvements for production in all facets of operation through direct contributions of project development from conception though start-up. A Production Engineer will indirectly lead 20 to 30 hourly colleagues and support the Department Superintendents in areas of daily and weekly scheduling, coordination of training, as well as updating standard operating procedures, and supporting Performance Excellence activities. This position will work with contractor management, CAPEX COE and Technology COE for the completion of projects within the facility.

+ Oversight of specific processes that may include projects. Project management may require, purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and startup of projects
+ Lead plant operations to maintain personnel and process safety
