**Position Summary**
The Shift Supervisor is a salaried position and is responsible for the safe operation of their team, ensuring high quality and efficient operations while demonstrating a positive and inclusive culture at the facility. Under the direction of the Barge Dock Superintendent, the Shift Supervisor is primarily responsible for the operation, supervision, and performance of the Barge Dock, Tank Farm, and Rail operations on their assigned shift.
This position will be required to work outside of normal shift hours based on business needs, including some weekends.
**Job Duties**
+ Responsible to lead their team by providing direction, leadership, motivation, communication, training, coaching and discipline as needed, and within site guidelines, for all colleagues within the area of responsibility.

+ Demonstrate strong communication skills in both face to face and written communication.
+ Responsible to communicate shift performance, downtime issues, Root Cause analysis results for issues on shift, and other incident reports as occasion requires.

+ Directing daily production and maintenance activities.
+ Responsible for scheduling of team including vacation time, ensuring cross-training is performed sufficiently to maintain safe and efficient performance of the site during all shifts.
+ Responsible to report defects and needed repairs via Maximo work requests (or similar), safety and environmental defects or events/near misses via Sphera Cloud reporting system (or similar).
+ Demonstrate commitment to improving safety, processes and efficiency of the plant.
+ Serve as person in charge during shift for site operations providing direction and to provide technical guidance and other assistance, as needed.
+ Leads their Team in achieving Zero recordable / lost work day injuries.
+ Manage and direct all department operations so as to maximize operational efficiency and effectively control departmental costs.
+ Manage the training and coaching for all shift personnel to ensure the use of proper safety practices, operating procedures, company systems, policies and procedures.
+ Interacts with all plant personnel.
+ To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
+ Aligns with the Quincy Marketing team to coordinate loading/offloading of barges & meal trucks.
+ Other duties may be assigned.
+ Some trainings and team meetings will be held outside of shift hours and must be attended.
**Requirements**
+ Prior experience leading / supervising people, preferred.
+ Demonstrated self-starter and able to self-monitor with minimal oversight.
+ High school diploma or equivalent with strong fundamental skills (math, reading, writing)
+ Results driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by leadership.
+ The ability to provide motivation to the direct reports and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnel.
+ Ability to spend time working on a barge surface over water; ability to swim.
+ Ability to climb stairs, access ladders, catwalks and elevated working platforms across all hours of shift working time. Job also requires some lifting, sit and stand for long periods of time, work with heights, bending, kneeling and respirator qualified.
+ Ability to work in all types of climates both inside and out, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, noisy environments, heights, dusty environments, all of which require PPE.
+ A thorough understanding of the Bean Barge Unloading, Tank Farm Receiving, Barge Docks Operations, and Rail Operations is required, this can be learned on the job.

Partner with ProductionManagement to implement technical machine improvements to ensure safety and efficiency gains.
Assess machinery/equipment failures patterns and trends to proactively forecast the maintenance schedule to limit future failures and production downtime. Recommend strategic corrective measures.
Provide on-scene evaluation of downtime events and prioritize as necessary to ensure factory priorities are maintained.
Facilitate training of maintenance mechanics across production systems to ensure knowledge gaps are limited.
Facilities Responsibilities
Proactively maintains the facilities and grounds according to AIB standards and ISO Standards.
Provides oversight for facility projects and contractors during scheduled work hours and plant shutdowns; available to offer support during off shift hours and holidays.
Monitor utility systems for alarming conditions and respond as appropriate to ensure seamless operation.
Help facilitate training of maintenance technicians on facility systems to maintain reliable operation.
Supervising
Responsible for hiring, developing and motivating Mechanics to perform maintenance related tasks in a timely manner, without compromising company standards and procedures.
Responsible for scheduling maintenance Mechanics daily assignments and projects, ensuring efficient and proper use of resources.
Work hand in hand with productionmanagement to complete hand off of autonomous maintenance work to production teams.
Actively review maintenance program to identify opportunities for improvement, and work with maintenance planners and Area Lead technicians to optimize maintenance plans.
Execute and participate in Break Down Analysis and advise on root cause analysis completed outside of the maintenance department (quality, safety, non-downtime related production losses).
Participate in continuous improvement program at the pillar level.
Responsible for monitoring and controlling the quality of maintenance work; address and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Enforce maintenance department standards including work order management, work order attainment, labor efficiency, and cost metrics.

Conduct required safety training for direct reports.
Actively tour site, auditing status of production, utility and corporate office environments.
Spare Parts Management
Monitor and conduct audits of machinery spare parts to ensure production needs are met.
Work with MRO supervisor to ensure spare part management is maintained per lean manufacturing best practices.
Ensure transactions are completed by all parties to properly relieve parts from inventory in the CMMS system.

The Tooling Engineer is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and optimization of tools, dies, and molds used in manufacturing operations. This role ensures that all tooling supports efficient production, maintains product quality, and meets safety and cost objectives. The Tooling Engineer works closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Understand the fundamentals of cold forming, heading and rolling machines.
Preform failure analysis and implement countermeasures on tooling when life ended prematurely
Repair critical tooling: tear down, measure, replace components, rebuild and return to machine
Manage tooling projects from concept through production, including design changes, supplier coordination, testing, and approval.
Assist material changes, prototypes, and validating new tooling for new parts, referred to as Production Order Sheets (POS)
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Learn to operate the equipment and assist production team members in their training.
Provide technical training and support to operators and maintenance personnel.
Ensure all tooling meets design specifications, safety standards, and production requirements.
Ensure the plant has tooling available. Order, stock, inventory & distribute the replenishment tooling.
Design, develop, and validate tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to support manufacturing
Oversee tooling fabrication, modification, and maintenance activities-both in-house and with external vendors.
Create, Update and Maintain tool drawings, productions documents, set up sheets, progression sheets, tool list, etc.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in tooling design, standardization, and performance.
Act as a backup when other Tool Room team members are out
Participate on the weekly / monthly ASJ project conference calls
Other duties as assigned

Support the department Team Members through efforts to achieve the departmental and company goals. Serve as an example for other employees in the department. Lead department with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) in mind.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of all jobs within the department.
Serves as a student and champion of Toyota Production System (TPS) and Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM).
Coordinate the training for new Team members in order for them to be trained effectively; develop plan for cross-training team to ensure area and process coverage.
Acts as the first point of contact for department Team Members, providing support and communication for the team.
Facilitate department Start of Shift Meeting, SQDC message and expectations.
Plan department work assignments and assign daily tasks.
Establishing priorities and sequences to promote 100% on-time delivery of customers.
Take necessary action to assure that each process sends only 100% conforming product/parts to the next process to promote TPS and minimum inventories.
Provide improvements to work instructions and procedures.
Determine the root cause(s) and countermeasures for product nonconformances, machine/tool, process problems, Abnormal conditions and for all other matters/occurrences that will benefit from Kaizen activities/continual improvement.
Management of the Floor Management System to include developing, communicating and posting results
HazMat Training and Compliance (for applicable areas)
Support of developing and executing the areas function action plan
Shift Transition with On-coming/off-going Area Leader.
Step in to production assignments as needed to provide relief for absence or emergency.
Manage abnormal conditions by communicating, analyzing and resolving issues.
Lead Area 4S+ and enforce compliance to established standards.
Responsible for Safety communication, reporting, and enforcement of team compliance to include but not limited to, accident investigation and countermeasures, protective equipment, protection on the job, OSHA requirements, and emergency action plans.
Quality facilitation by auditing and assuring that work instructions are complete and accurate and standard work is being followed.
Manage the performance of their area and team members with prompt communication to the section manager.
Complete non-routine projects or assignments, i.e., participation in Kaizen events and help to lead improvement processes.
Act as an interim leader in cases of a Section Manager's short-term absence.
Participates in hiring new Team Members and is part of the decision-making process.
Complete other assignments as deemed necessary by IAF leadership.
Education & Training
High School Diploma or GED. Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school a plus
Three-year related experience and/or training (5 to 7 years of experience preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have ability to:
Perform basic troubleshooting activities with minimal direction after training.
Recognize bottlenecks and adjust plan/manpower as necessary.
Read and understand Kanban and match Kanban to part.
Use calipers for measuring parts.
To use hand tools, understand and perform required techniques.
Identify problems and come up with appropriate solutions.
Read and interpret technical drawing, quality specifications and engineering specifications.
Be familiar with the use of industrial equipment and mechanical tools.
Read the Production Schedule.
Work in a Windows computer environment with proficiency in excel.
Look up Work instructions or reference documents.
Take initiative.
Extend shift by 30 minutes on each end.

POSITION SUMMARY
Borden Dairy is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven professional to join our team as Fleet Supervisor. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for assisting the Fleet Manager in achieving the Fleet Manager duties and responsibilities as outlined. You'll assist in overseeing and supporting key functions within the distribution department to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of our products.
Responsibilities:
Provide resources and guidance to fleet employees regarding the maintenance and repair of mechanical transportation equipment to support safe product distribution.
Manage processes to ensure a viable, well-maintained fleet; develop fleet replacement cycles, capital requirements, and asset redeployment priorities.
Drive process consistency and cross-functional collaboration using Continuous Improvement methodology to deliver cost savings and operational efficiency.
Build and lead a high-performing garage team aligned with company goals, profitability, and vision.
Oversee garage operations including mechanic training, process development, PM inspections, purchasing, tire programs, diagnostics, fleet repairs, and DOT compliance.
Benchmark and set performance targets for fleet operations and garage team effectiveness.
Support the Fleet Manager in training, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Foster a positive and productive working relationship with the distribution and supply chain leadership team.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent education/experience in automotive technology required.
Minimum 2 years of direct Fleet/Garage Management experience in food/beverage, consumer products, manufacturing, or over-the-road transportation is preferred
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships across teams.
Proven ability to solve problems creatively and challenge traditional approaches.
Skilled in analyzing complex data sets and making strategic business recommendations.
Knowledge of DOT compliance, and fleet optimization.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels and cultures.
Certifications & Licenses:
* Class A or B CDL preferred. Must possess a valid CDL-A or CDL-B and Medical Examiner's Certificate per FMCSA Part 391.41 before operating a commercial vehicle for Borden Dairy.
