Quality control technician job at ADM
This position will provide support for the Monroe Operations and Inventory groups by completing laboratory analysis. The occupant of this role will complete routine testing, ensure data integrity, and promote a safe laboratory environment. The occupant of this role will report to the local QC manager and support senior laboratory colleagues.
**Primary Job Functions:**
+ Conduct routine QC testing which includes analysis of raw materials, intermediate batches, and finished products.
+ Maintain appropriate data integrity while conducting testing.
+ Participate in investigations for any out of specification results and report findings to local QC manager or Senior QC members.
+ Follow best practices, established by the company and regulating bodies, for transcription of data.
+ Uphold a clean area of work and a well-organized space for samples.
+ Participate in necessary training sessions to ensure consistency of testing.
+ Fulfill common laboratory cleaning practices to ensure the laboratory environment does not negatively impact testing.
+ Identify issues with methodology and support investigations into testing accuracy.
+ Communicate failures as necessary to ensure supply chain is aware of any possible delays.
+ Perform sensory assessments in line with ADM practices.
+ Transcribe data from vendor documents and organize said documents according to local policy.
+ Assist Quality Assurance technicians with investigations if additional data or information is necessary for research on out of specification batches.
+ Represent the quality labs in a professional manner to external and internal parties.
+ Bring new ideas and improvements to quality protocols and procedures.
+ Follow Basic GMP and GLP safety standards.
+ Maintain proper storage and organization of retains for future assessment.
**Requirements:**
+ Minimum Associate's degree in food science, biology, or related laboratory-based field.
+ Preferred experience with organoleptic testing.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality requirements.
+ Willingness to innovate and adapt best practices.
+ Ability to encourage trust between Operations, Development, Supply Chain and Quality departments.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

Key Responsibilities
Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks. Under the direction of the Director of Plating Process Engineering, the Plating Process Technician provides support to the engineering teams in the plating area, including assisting with wet etch process, preparing and maintaining recipes, reviewing and documenting process or procedures, and expediting and dispositioning prototype wafers; maintains process controls using Statistical Process Control (SPC), collects and analyzes data, and recommends corrective action. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides support to the engineering teams in the plating, wet etch, and stripping process areas
Supports the plating, wet etch, and stripping processes by preparing, maintaining, and setting up recipes to ensure an efficient and consistent process
Reviews and documents processes and procedures; partners with engineering to implement changes effectively
Expedites and dispositions prototype wafers in the plating, wet etch and stripping areas
Assists engineers to run plating process development experiments, collects and analyzes data, and recommends corrective action if required
Reviews and maintains process controls using SPC and prepares charts and graphs
Assists with routine trouble-shooting and resolves basic process-related issues

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Plant Quality TechnicianResponsible for executing corporate and plant specific Food Safety, Quality and Laboratory requirements. The QA Technician reports to QA Manager. In the absence of the Quality Assurance Technician, the QA Manager or designate will assume the job duties.
Essential Functions
Ensure all parameters of food safety and quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the facility.
Assist with batching chemicals/ingredients for production.
Calibrate lab and line equipment for accurate results.
Collect in-process and finished product samples.
Conduct standardized qualitative and quantitative testing to ensure it meets specifications.
Perform aseptic testing for microbial contamination.
Follow protocols for documenting testing results.
Recognize deficiencies and initiate proper follow-up.
Identify and isolate product that does not meet standards.
Aid in troubleshooting deficiencies and non-conformances.
Review food safety and quality records.
Actively participate in plant teams (HACCP, Safety, etc.)
Conduct other duties as assigned by management.

* Keeps work area, utensils, tanks, mills, and equipment clean and organized.

* Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner including wearing all required personal protective equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Coordinate and oversee corrective and preventive action activities across manufacturing operations.
Track, document, and maintain corrective action records in accordance with company requirements.
Ensure timely closure of corrective action tasks and verify effectiveness of solutions.
Lead investigations into product or process non-conformances.
Facilitate problem-solving sessions using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to identify systemic issues.
Create or revise work instructions or procedures to support improvement actions.
Technical writing ability and knowledge of document & configuration control.
Prepare reports and summaries of corrective action status.
Support internal and external audits by providing corrective action documentation and objective evidence.
Recommend process improvements to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
Provide training and guidance to employees on corrective action and best practices.
Monitor trends in non-conformances and proactively address recurring issues.
Perform quality system and process audits.
Perform product inspections and nonconformance dispositions.
Experience with QT9 QMS a plus.
All other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or corrective action coordination.
Strong knowledge of CAPA processes, ISO 9001, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
Proficiency in quality tools and software for managing & tracking corrective actions & tasks.
Ability to assess adequacy of objective evidence to approve and close corrective actions.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in quality tools (SPC, FMEA, control plans, etc.)
Working experience with Microsoft programs: MS Word, Power Point, Visio, Excel, Outlook.

Demonstrated people and leadership skills, including conflict resolution, problem solving, and performance management.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with staff from diverse disciplines and backgrounds.

Job Summary
The Quality Inspector works under the supervision of the Quality Specialist or Regional Quality Manager and Plant Manager to provide quality assurance and quality control support for The Gund Company. The Quality Inspector executes activities associated with inspection and quarantine of nonconformance activities of The Gund Company products. The role supports execution of the quality management system (QMS) at an individual manufacturing site within a global multi-site QMS. Team members work closely with the Quality Specialist and Regional Quality Managers to comply with customer specific requirements and to maintain quality control requirements.

Process execution a of quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and continuous improvement (CI) process at assigned site.
Execute in process, first article, PPAP, and other customer defined inspections.
Support process engineering in process capability studies and audits.
Drive improvement and customer focuses responsiveness to quality issues for assigned site.
