We are now looking for a dynamic, client-facing Senior Design Architect to become a core part of our team. POSITION OVERVIEW This is a senior-level role - not just a sit-behind-a-desk drafting position. You will lead the architectural plans creation, coordinate with engineers, create detailed sections, own the permit process, prepare visual and technical renderings, and support in the process of design and selection of finishes. We're seeking a licensed architect with 10+ years of experience, who blends strong architectural skills, interior design intuition, and a warm, confident, client-focused personality. We're looking for someone who can own it, juggle multiple projects at the same time and work efficiently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead the full architectural design process for residential projects. • Produce floor plans, elevations, site plans, and detailed architectural sectons/cross-sections. • Ensure designs meet code, homeowner goals, and Porta Negra's design standards. • Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and other consultants, ensuring all plans align with architectural intent. • Own the permitting process with the goal to get permits approved in a quick effective manner. Review city comments, analyze reviewer feedback, and prepare revisions. Meet with city reviewers when needed to resolve issues diplomatically. • Prepare visual renderings and present design concepts clearly and comfortably to clients. • Research finishing materials (vanities, flooring, countertops, plumbing fixtures, etc.) and curate options for clients. • Interact with the different construction teams when questions come up and conduct site visits to ensure proper execution of plans. TECHNICAL & VISUALIZATION SKILLS Proficiency required in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup and rendering software such as V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, etc Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. QUALIFICATIONS • Licensed Architect. • 10+ years of professional exerience in residential architecture. • Strong portfolio showing design leadership & high-quality residential work. • Experience producing architectural sections, details, and technical drawings. • Experience coordinating with engineers (structural, MEP, etc.). • Experience interacting with city reviewers during plan review. Must have worked with Miami-Dade, Pinecrest, Coral Gables, City of Miami and South Miami. • Experience creating renderings. • Experience with kitchen and bathroom design.
