Sharepoint Architect (with .net experience)
Architect job in Chicago, IL
Thanks for taking time to stop by and take a look at the SharePoint / .net Architect role I posted here on LinkedIN, I appreciate it quite a bit.
Allow me to introduce myself just a bit. My name is Tom Welke, I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions, Inc. I have been recruiting technical talent for a long long time and been in the tech sector for longer than that. I'm saying all this not to gloat, I am saying this so that you know that you are actually dealing with a real, live, breathing human. Not a bot, not an AI engine.
As with just about every role I work on, social fit is important. Granted, there will be some 'gotta have's otherwise someone's going to have a coronary' from a technical standpoint (you will see that as your read this JD)...but those social fit characteristics are really important as well. Here are some of 'em:
There are environments you will encounter over your career where you find individuals with ego's the size of a planet. This is not that kind of place. Everyone works together and it's important to share your knowledge here.
Everyone here is an adult. I know that might sound rather silly to say. However, hear me out... Adults do what they way will do when they say they will do it, adults don't need to be micro-managed, and adults know how to plan their work and work their plan. I know, right...adults in a working environment...strange but true.
This role is being done onsite in downtown Chicago. We are really only looking to work with candidates that are already in the greater Chicago metro area for this role. In addition, I can only work with US Citizens of Green Card Holders for this one. So, if you are an H1, OPT, EAD, H4, F1, STEM Visa holder, I won't be able to work with you, unfortunately.
This role is permanent and fully benefitted (life, dental, health, all the goodies)
As you might have guessed, from the title of the role, we are seeking a SharePoint solution architect, with some .net development skills. You will be working with Risk, Marketing, Administration and Business Services teams in this role. You will be responsible for architecting and delivering applications via SharePoint within the .net stack. This will include architecture, framework and delivery of this client's Intranet and other browser based solutions. You will also work with other IT Architects engineers from other technology teams within this client. In addition, you will also oversee general usabilities, integrations and adherence to this client's technology guidelines.
This team includes 9 teammates. These 9 teammates are, primarily, .net developers and architects. You will be focusing your work on SharePoint architecture and blending in your .net skills to accomplish the goals of this role.
One of your most important projects will include the development of an Intranet from the ground up. These guys did have an Intranet based on SP 2016. Rather than migrating all the data (the 2016 Intranet has a ton of data and it has become something of a 'link farm'), they have decided to build it from the ground up. They did have a design firm create a high level design and you will be working on the architectural aspect of actually getting this Intranet up and running. This new Intranet will be SharePoint online based and connect with M365.
Here are some of the key responsibilities for this role:
Function as an SME in all SharePoint and .net Framework solutions while providing support to the Risk, Marketing, and Administration Systems portfolio.
Work across functions & teams with internal & external IT partners to implement and manage collaboration systems to meet the objectives of this organization.
Work with IT engineers and architects throughout this clients global technology environment. This will include working with managing delivery, and operationalizing updates.
Lead the development of long-term strategic goals for collaboration solutions, software and data integrations.
Function as a Technical Lead on projects by developing an understanding of existing systems and processes as well as identifying/determining future needs.
Develop and document SharePoint & .Net Framework best practices, guidelines, security, and governance.
Interpret complex technical documentation and effectively communicate information to individuals at all levels of the organization.
Respond to support escalations and investigate, analyze, document, and provide root cause resolution to reported incidents.
Mentor to other team members and provide training.
Attend regular vendor meetings for areas of expertise, and remain informed of latest technology roadmaps, security notifications, and bug/hot fixes. This also includes working with those vendors with regard to assuring proper levels of support are maintained.
Here is what we are seeking for this role:
At least 7 years of experience of enterprise level solution architecture experience in SharePoint and .net. This experience would need to include architecting SharePoint Online solutions.
At lest 7 years of experience developing .net & SP solutions where you were working with end users with regards to requirements gathering, documentation, process flow diagraming, testing and bug fixes.
If you have worked in a global environment, that would be great to see.
Experience deploying and managing SharePoint Online solutions in Azure DevOps.
Your SharePoint experience will need to include SPFx.
Your .net experience will need to include C#, ASP.Net, MVC, and MVVM.
Experience with M365, M365 security & compliance, MS Purview, Azure AD, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful services & APIs, PowerShell, Microsoft's Power Platform, and OneDrive, will be needed.
