The Solution Architect (SA) will play a critical role driving new business development, sales success and continued client satisfaction by applying deep technology expertise to prospects and client business as well as internal functions. Design the architecture for a major application migration project for a large manufacturing company to transfer applications from a legacy data center into a cutting edge technology data center.
Provide front line representation of the project to C-level executives.
Analyze application portfolio to create application migration groups.
Define application design, development, and deployment strategy for private cloud and public cloud.
Direct onshore and offshore teams to perform analysis, remediation, and application migration activities.
Design the migration factory.
Ability to communicate with C-level executives about project status and overall project vision.
Experience managing 10+ teams, define KPIs for the project activities, and measure the teams' progress against defined KPIs
Ability to provide expert strategic advice for cloud application development, cloud application deployment, private versus public cloud options, virtualization, containerization, and DevOps.
Ability to describe data center service framework design Ability to provide expert strategic advice for data center migration strategy and key components of a data center migration Ability to discover application characteristics of mainframe, midrange, and Wintel applications that will help define migration groups.
Experience assessing applications and application architecture.
Prepare a technical and architecture plan to achieve the stated goal and adjust the plans according to progress and interdependencies.
Provide cross-vendor communication in a multi-vendor project
Experience with ITIL framework is preferred
Experience with data center migration or application modernization is preferred
Experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) is not required but is recommended
Using problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and independent thinking to overcome challenges
Communicating in writing and verbally and with clarity

5+ Experience working with cloud native GCP and hybrid cloud environments such as researching the best use of cloud products and the ecosystem, designing, developing, implementing, and managing Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.
3+ hands-on experience in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.

You will work with Technology and Software Platform teams to provide solutions for cloud infrastructure across the Ford Enterprise, including hosting, computing, databases, and networks.
Define, analyze, assemble, and integrate components to deliver infrastructure patterns for the business, including consideration for platforms, software, availability, scalability, and reliability.
Experienced with OpenShift/GKE and hands-on with GCP services and hands-on with GCP services, including Containers, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Big Query, and Cloud Storage.
Design, build, and maintain GCP infrastructure to support our applications and services with high performance, scalable and secure cloud native applications on GCP.
