Ownership of Dubsdread remained in the Dann family until the City of Orlando purchased it in 1978.
With deep roots in Orange County, the History Center opened in 2000 and is operated by Orange County and the nonprofit Historical Society of Central Florida, Inc.
In 2007, the Orange County chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIAOC) celebrated the 150th anniversary of their national organization.
