Role description:
Arcadis seeks a Project Architect to join its mixed-use team located in either Austin, Tx, Los Angeles or San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a diverse and creative team dedicated to excellence in design and innovative problem solving, with technical experience, and a drive to succeed. The position is focused on leading a team to the successful delivery of mid-to-large scale mixed-use projects domestically. High rise experience is a must, but you should also be knowledgeable in all forms of wood/stick construction. The ideal candidate will lead the architectural design process from concept through construction administration, ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, and compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Role accountabilities:
Lead architectural design and documentation for multifamily projects, including high-rise, podium, and wrap typologies.
Comfortable working as a Project Architects both at the front end of a project (Concept, Entitlements onwards) and later stages.
Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and perform site visits to monitor construction progress and quality
Initiates, coordinates, and manages the documentation process in Revit &/or CAD for medium to large scale mixed-use projects
Ensures the technical integrity of documents using knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Perform analytical tasks
Initiates and manages documentation standards
Collaborates with the design team to develop constructible solutions
Collaborates and coordinates multiple consultants to ensure design and documentation meet project expectations
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
10+ years of Architecture experience with a focus on multifamily residential projects
5+ years' experience as a Project Architect for medium - large scale, mixed-use projects (Renovation and Ground up)
Demonstrated experience on high-rise, podium or wrap multifamily residential, hotel & retail typologies (California and Texas preferred)
Experience with Type 1 through Type 3 construction practices
Advanced proficiency in REVIT, SketchUp, Rhino
Licensed Architect preferred
LEED accreditation preferred
Strong verbal and written communication
Organized, detail-oriented and self-starter

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. Summer Internship Program Overview
The Summer Internship Program is open to applicants who are planning careers in architecture, structural & sustainable engineering, urban planning, graphic design, or interior design. Spend the summer learning from experts in all of our design disciplines, building your design and visualization skills and contributing to world class design projects. Summer Interns participate in a wide range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events.
SOM's Summer Internship Program will run from June 8, 2026 until August 14, 2026.
Desired skills and expertise
Current student in an accredited bachelor's program or master's degree program in architecture or related field of study and returning to school in the Fall of 2026.
Some experience in the architectural profession or associated arts.
Strong design capabilities as demonstrated in portfolio or work samples.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino and visualization software.
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
Reminders
You must be returning to school in Fall 2026 to be considered for a summer internship at SOM.

Compensation for this role is based upon experience, qualifications, location, and education and typically ranges from $24/per hour to $26/per hour.
