What You'll Do
50% Design: Create custom residential home and accessory building designs using hand sketches, SoftPlan CAD, and future tools like SketchUp and Revit.
15% Selections & Estimating: Guide clients through materials selections and communicate budgets, costs, and final choices to project teams.
10% Sales Support: Conduct initial consultations, follow-ups, and lead qualification.
10% Cabinet Design: Prepare cabinet layouts and orders using 2020 Kitchen & Bath software.
10% Vendor Coordination: Build relationships with suppliers, track product changes and availability, and stay current on material and style trends.
5% Showroom Management: Maintain samples, displays, and a welcoming client space.
What We're Looking For
Education in architecture or interior design (degree or formal training).
Experience in residential construction is a plus.
CAD proficiency (Revit, SoftPlan, SketchUp, 2020 preferred).
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, customer service mindset, and basic budgeting/math ability.
Willingness to visit job sites, meet vendors, lift up to 25 lbs, and occasionally learn alongside carpenters.

This role supports the in-house design staff in producing high-quality documentation for luxury custom homes, major remodels, and renovations. The ideal candidate has a background in residential drafting and is proficient in Chief Architect or Revit.
As an Architectural Drafter, you will:
Work under the direction of an Architectural Design Studio Manager and complete detailed drawings for custom new homes, residential remodels, and some light commercial construction projects using Chief Architect
Create site plans, floor plans, ceiling plans, interior & exterior elevations, wall sections, custom details, and plumbing and electrical schematics.
Convert Revit-based drawings received from external consultants/builders into Chief Architect format as needed.
Perform existing conditions field measurements and prepare accurate as-built drawings.
Checks drawings for conformance to building codes and standards.
Your background:
AAS Degree in Architectural Drafting or equivalent
3+ years of experience with residential drafting in a professional setting

Temporary Description
As an Architectural Engineering Summer Intern you will perform engineering design, modeling, drafting and detailing tasks in support of structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering. You will spend a multi-week rotation in each engineering discipline throughout the summer.
Summer Interns work as part of a multi-discipline team performing engineering design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. You will perform assignments under the direct supervision of one or more licensed engineers and concentrate on specific design or technical documentation tasks that contribute to overall projects. Assignments will include performing design calculations, preparing reports, and producing deliverable drawing sets including plans, details, and schedules.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assists to design and specify project-appropriate engineering requirements.
Coordinates designs with the work of the design team.
Performs Revit modeling and detailing
Assists to conduct site investigations and observations.
Assists to prepare narratives, reports, hand and computer calculations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints.
Assists to perform cross-discipline discussions and coordination.
