Job Responsibilities
Position will be part of a team working in support of a client with a large campus in the Tysons/McLean area
Design management on new, refresh, remodels, renovations, right size, relocations, rollouts, and concept test projects within the Real Estate and Property Development Department.
Ability to handle small to mid-sized quick turnaround projects per year, with a typical range of 100 - 5,000 SF each
Will act as the liaison between the client and the architecture firm
Coordinates project teams to ensure timely completion of documents
Develops overall design for the project
Develop detailed project drawings (schematic design, design development, permit, pricing and construction documents)
Present and gains approval of concepts to the client kicks off new projects, manage the design process for internal activities and external vendors
Establishes and ensures adherence to set budget
Manages overall client relationship from initial assessment of client needs, through design concept presentations and final delivery of projects.
Review of engineering drawings to ensure they comply with the design solution
Works with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawings
Provide furniture layouts, selections, and specifications / Provide FFE quotation coordination with dealers
Obtain client approval and ensure integration into the overall design
Produces, reviews, and finalizes space plans for projects
Extensive knowledge of detailing and finalizing details on projects
Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages
Interior and exterior signage specification and branding
Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget
Education, Work Experience, Background, and Schedule
Graduate of architecture, design, or business school: equivalent experience may be substituted
6+ years' experience producing design projects
Hybrid schedule Works at Client Campus (T/W/Th) and Remote days (M/F)
Must take and pass a background check and drug screening test.

Your Role
As an Architecture Intern at Gensler, you will join our creative studio environment for a full-time, paid internship program running from Tuesday, June 2 through Friday, August 7, 2026. You must be available to work in person for the entire duration of the program.
What You Will Do
* Work on architecture projects as a fully collaborative member of a design team, participating in design charrettes to help define strategic goals for our clients, large or small.
* Receive hands-on learning and collaborate with designers, architects, directors, and managers to plan, design, develop and gain real-world experience working with clients across a spectrum of industries and locations.
* Enjoy the rich culture of our office and firm through educational sessions and mentorship opportunities that include lunch-and-learns, lectures, project tours and vendor presentations.
* Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and technical drawings.
* Build physical study models and presentation models.
* Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts.
Your Qualifications
* You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture degree program; NAAB accredited program highly preferred.
* You have completed your third year of an undergraduate program or first year of a graduate program and are returning to your program post-internship. This internship is not for recent graduates.
* Experience using Revit or Rhino required; AutoCAD, and/or BIM modeling software a plus.
* 3-D computer rendering skills (Enscape, V-ray, Sketch Up, 3-D Max, and/or other modeling software).
* Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook and Bluebeam.

Beyer Blinder Belle is accepting applications for our 2026 Summer Internship Program and is seeking talented architecture students to join our multidisciplinary Washington, DC office.
Our ideal candidate is excited about invigorating existing and historic buildings through architecturaldesign, brings a strong design sense with technical grounding, and actively seeks to develop innovative design concepts and work collaboratively toward solutions.
The intern will undertake various assignments requiring the application of standard design processes, contribute to developing design solutions, prepare presentation drawings, and develop models for concept discussion and communication internally and externally. Interns will receive guidance and support from experienced professionals committed to providing mentorship throughout the internship.
During this 10-week internship, summer interns at BBB will have the opportunity to attend project site visits, learn from staff during weekly Lunch & Learn sessions, collaborate with fellow interns in a Design Charette, and participate in Professional Development workshops.
The intern will also:
· Perform basic architectural assignments, applying standard solutions and solving problems under the direction of an Intermediate Architect or above.
· Create graphic diagrams, drawings, renderings, models, etc., under the supervision of an Intermediate Architect or above.
· Edit, update, and pick up red marks on drawings, reports, etc.
The intern should have:
· Introductory/basic level understanding of basics of technical aspects of the job depending on the area (zoning, planning, construction documentation, etc.).
· Ability to research independently and communicate findings for technical problems.
· Ability to solve and communicate basic problems graphically and/or in writing.
Requirements
· Pursuing a master's or bachelor's degree in architecture (3 years of education completed)
· Strong design and graphic skills
· Clear/concise written, graphic, or oral communication.
· Ability to work collaboratively within the team as well as independently.
· Proficiency in BIM Revit, Rhino/Sketch up, and Adobe Creative Suite, is preferred
· Knowledge of Visualization, Production, Presentation, and Communication Software
Recruitment Process

Position Summary
The Designer has responsibility for the quality of design for each project within the established scope of work, program, and budget objectives. Together with the Technical Designer, Project Manager, and/or Project Architect, the Designer is the day-to-day co-leader of the project, with significant responsibilities in

Integrates criteria and input from all disciplines into design solutions.
Communicates and maintains standards of quality for design and work products for the full internal and external team.
Possesses a working understanding of the local parameters and criteria for the project, including relevant local codes. Oversees and leads the design, programmatic, contextual, and cultural research and analysis required for the project.
Proposes and assesses materials and finishes for the project.
Leads design documentation including but not limited to drawings, sketches, physical models, renderings, and animations for regular internal and external meetings and milestone deliverables.
