    Job Description The Project Architect II (RA) is responsible for leading architectural projects through all phases, from design development to construction completion. This role emphasizes project leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with clients and consultants to ensure the successful execution of architectural solutions that meet project goals and regulatory requirements. Primary Essential Functions: Lead architectural design projects from initial concept development through construction, ensuring that designs meet client requirements and regulatory standards. Prepare detailed construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and technical specifications, ensuring that they comply with building codes and zoning regulations. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to integrate structural, mechanical, electrical, and other systems into the overall design. Oversee the project's technical aspects, ensuring that all design elements are accurate and feasible for construction. Conduct quality control reviews during key project phases, ensuring that all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with industry standards. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure that deadlines are met and projects are completed within financial constraints. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any questions or concerns that arise. Oversee construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and resolving technical issues on-site. Secondary Essential Functions: Perform all other duties as assigned. Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): Knowledge Strong understanding of architectural design processes, building systems, and construction methods. Knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with project management principles and construction documentation processes. Knowledge of quality control practices in architectural design and construction. Understanding of sustainability principles and certifications (LEED, WELL, etc.). Skills Proficiency in architectural software (Revit, AutoCAD) for preparing design and construction documents. Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Excellent communication skills for managing client relationships and coordinating with consultants. Advanced technical drafting and detailing skills. Ability to manage project documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Abilities Ability to lead project teams through all phases of design and construction. Ability to ensure that project designs are technically accurate and meet regulatory standards. Ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and team members. Ability to identify and resolve technical issues that arise during construction. Qualifications: Required Licensed Architect (RA). Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture. Preferred Experience leading large or complex projects. Physical Requirements: Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers. Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
