WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Contribute to the overall design vision and execution for commercial and housing projects
Translate client goals, program, and budgets into compelling architecturaldesign solutions
Collaborate closely with the Design Manager, Principals, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in design presentations and communicate ideas effectively to clients and stakeholders
Develop design documents from concept through construction documentation, ensuring alignment with firmwide standards and project requirements
Coordinate with consultants, jurisdictions, and team members to support design and technical accuracy.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
A passion for design with the ability to translate conceptual thinking into clear, buildable solutions
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, consultants, and internal teams
Motivation to contribute creative ideas, embrace feedback, and refine design outcomes
Ability to manage time and tasks effectively in a collaborative studio environment.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE VALUE:

Description
As a Designer II, you will ultimately leverage your knowledge of professional design, strategic thinking, collaborative skills, and strong communication acumen to develop project designs and construction documents for single and multi-discipline projects. The responsibilities of this position include:
Utilize experience and knowledge from coursework in the design of architectural/engineering projects.
Generate project design and construction documents with oversight from senior staff for projects ranging from private residences to K-12 campuses and seismic retrofits of existing buildings to commercial developments.
Utilize the applicable codes, regulations, and laws to preform code reviews and ensure project compliance.
Assist on projects during construction through review and processing of RFI's, material submittals, and periodic on-site construction observation.
Collaborate with project partners (in-house disciplines, owners, architects, sub-consultants, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in architectureor engineering from an accredited program
2 years minimum post graduate structural engineering experience in a consulting firm that provides structural engineering services for low to mid-rise structures (preferred, but not required)
EIT is preferred, but not required
Demonstrated critical thinking skills in a deadline driven arena
Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
Strong proven technical skills
Ability to travel (occasionally) as we support projects throughout the state
Valid driver's license
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and basic element design packages such as Enercalc or StruCalc required
