Architectural internship job description

Gresham Smith accepts interns from accredited design schools in the areas of architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning. Many interns have been offered continued employment as full-time employees after graduation.
Minimum Qualifications

In order to be considered for an internship with Gresham Smith, a student should:

Be currently enrolled in a full-time academic program at an accredited college or university; Maintain a good academic standing; Pursue a field of study that is consistent with Gresham Smith needs for intern assignments. Students who hold F-1, OPT, or H1-B visas are eligible for consideration.

Essential Functions:

Summer paid internship working in EMC's information technology team Develops test data and test plans for policy system testing Tests new company policy products and enhancements to policy systems Enters and updates data tables for systems Researches system processing and impact of proposed updated systems to users



Education & Experience:


Completion of freshman year preferred Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Analytical ability to identify problems and prepare solutions Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong communication and human relations skills Excellent customer service skills Ability to work with people, organize information and develop testing strategies Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong organizational skills

ResponsibilitiesDevelop station concepts for future Loop systems Create presentation briefings for internal and external stakeholders Coordinate design with engineering and construction teams for constructability Produce detailed design drawings for permit Perform regular site visits and document existing conditions Digitize as-built architectural drawings

Basic QualificationsMust be a current Architecture student or recent graduate Minimum 1 year of work experience in Revit and AutoCADExceptional graphic and design talent Strong rendering skills Must excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

Preferred Skills and ExperienceExperience in Civil3D and InfraworksDynamo for design & production automation Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency Acute attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret civil engineering design and as-built drawings.Experience working with a team. Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning, and communication skills.Ability to study and comprehend specifications, rules and regulations.Exceptional leadership abilities.Strong interpersonal skills.An analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data.
Additional RequirementsPosition may require extended hours and weekend work.
