As a Hanger Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, you will leverage exceptional training and an extensive collaborative clinical community nearly 1600 providers strong to provide or supervise the delivery of comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care. You will assess patients, formulate treatment plans, implement those plans, follow-up with your patients and participate in practice management. If you have not yet achieved certification, you will provide care under the direction of one of our certified clinicians.
You will enjoy combining your unique blend of clinical and technical skills to evaluate patients, custom design, fabricate and fit prostheses and/or orthoses to deliver exceptional outcomes for the patients you serve. Your Impact
Depending on the operational requirements, size of the Hanger Clinic and subject to limitations imposed by state and/or local law, your role may include some or all of the functions listed below.
* Collaborate with physicians in the evaluation and analysis of a patient's need for prosthetic and/or orthotic services; recommend treatment options to physicians when necessary.
* Examine and evaluate patient needs in relation to disease and functional loss.
* Formulate design of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
* Select materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts, taking into account new techniques and materials.
* Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments.
* Evaluate prosthetic and/or orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
* Instruct patient in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
* Identify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
* Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
* Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health care professionals.
* Utilize effective materials management, quality and performance processes to maximize device quality and medical efficacy, maintaining a proper balance with costs and operational/financial performance.
* Meet with physicians, case managers and other referral sources to review prosthetic and/or orthotic services and capabilities; develop and enhance business relationships to identify and secure ongoing and future sources or referrals.
* Plan and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets in coordination with management.
* Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
* May mentor residents or newly certified clinicians.
* Provide assistance to other clinical staff.
* Provide information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities.
* Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with bloodborne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
* Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
* May be asked to perform on-call, hospital calls, or float between more than one Hanger Clinic location.
Minimum Qualifications
* Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC), or
* A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent, and current ABC Board-Eligibility in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics.
* A valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
* In states where licensure is required, the ability to obtain and maintain state licensure may be required as well.
* May be willing to consider candidates who are certified in one discipline who wish see patients in their certified discipline while simultaneously completing residency in the other discipline.
* May be willing to consider candidates who are not certified or board-eligible but have at least 5 years of demonstrated past experience in providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under the supervision of a certified clinician.

The Community Care Coordinator (CCC) provides superior patient support and customer service via proactive intervention, communication, and patient advocacy as well as providing emotional and educational support to patients and families coping with limb loss and/or a variety of orthotic and prosthetic needs. The CCC will work under the general direction of the ACM / CM or his/her designee, utilizing communication and management skills to coordinate seamless care delivery for patients with amputations / limb difference.
The CCC should be equipped with a thorough understanding of prosthetics, orthotics, and the medical/healthcare field. The CCC provides patient consultation, comfort, and guidance through the spectrum of initial patient referral and interaction, surgery, recovery, treatment and rehab. The CCC will provide the highest level of customer/client service to prosthetic and orthotic patients, referral sources, and colleagues through the coordination and administration of prosthetic and orthotic patient care. Through interacting with healthcare providers in the community, the CCC will also be responsible for building relationships and fostering new opportunities to serve more patients.
Working closely with Hanger personnel and office staff, this position holds responsibility for the day to day management of, and communication with patients, care team members and referral partners to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Your Impact
* Ensure that new patients are contacted before or after initial consult or AmpuShield fitting and are entered into Hanger Clinic's patient management and tracking system
* Support patients with amputations through the weeks pre/post-surgery by providing new patients and their families with information, resources, advice and counsel on the process and options to be fit with a prosthetic / orthotic device
* Coordinate AMPOWER visits
* Build and maintain referral relationships for Hanger Clinic
* Assist with obtaining appropriate clinical documentation for insurance coverage
* Keep patients engaged after initial contact with follow-up communications and appointments to ensure an excellent patient experience and continuity of care at Hanger Clinic
* Provide updates on follow up visits w/surgeon including wound description, photos, care plan details and any modifications to the care plan as needed.
* Complete hospital visits, visits to skilled nursing facilities, or rehab facilities as needed and determined by the care team.
* Identify and follow-up on all referrals to assure continuity of care and patient/family needs are met
* Act as contact for patients and families, referring physicians, outside agencies, outside staff and general public by providing information regarding the clinic's services
* Serve as a liaison between the patient and the various clinic areas and ancillary services to coordinate activities involved in pre-operative / post-operative planning and preparation and care coordination through to the delivery of a definitive device.
* Utilize CCC clinical communication and tracking tools to maintain communication with patients and associated health professionals
* Assist patients with upcoming visits and fittings which may require becoming an ABC Certified Orthotic Fitter
Knowledge and Skill:

* BA/BS in Health related field or equivalent work experience
* Ability to be credentialed in major hospital systems

* Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
Preferred
* ATC, EMT, MA, Surgical Tech, LVN, PTA, Physician Extenders, OTA, Social Work or like certification or equivalent experience
* Experience with progressive responsibilities in health care facility administrative support functions such as insurance processing coordinator, patient care coordinator, MA, or related roles.

Your Impact
Responsibilities for the role will include:
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of DMEOPS CPT and ICD-10 codes.
Utilize the company billing and collections system to identify and resolve any claims that have been unpaid, short paid and/or denied.
Review EOB's and other correspondence from insurance companies for correct reimbursement according to rules and regulations and contract terms.
Follow up with insurance companies by online portal, phone, email and/or fax.
Identify billing errors and submitted corrected claims insurance carriers.
Provide timely and accurate follow up on accounts until they are resolved.
File and follow up on appeals and disputes.
Communicate identified AR issues that may cause payment delays or write offs to management.
Document all findings with clear and concise detail.
Research insurance guidelines and manuals for additional information.
Perform adjustments in the system as needed.
Submit medical records upon request.
Resolves outstanding accounts receivable problems. Respond to and resolve inquiries from customers or external collection resources.
Primary focus is on complex denials and appeals.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum
High school education or equivalent
5+ years of related experience to include at least one of the following areas: Insurance reimbursement, medical policy, payor appeal requirements or patient collection laws.
Experience in a medical office.

Experience with NextGen and/or OnBase.
Licensed Medicare auditor or Certified Medical Audit Specialist

Our patients are our focus and are the heart of everything we do. As a Hanger Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, you will leverage exceptional training and an extensive collaborative clinical community nearly 1600 providers strong to provide or supervise the delivery of comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care. You will assess patients, formulate treatment plans, implement those plans, follow-up with your patients and participate in practice management. If you have not yet achieved certification, you will provide care under the direction of one of our certified clinicians.
You will enjoy combining your unique blend of clinical and technical skills to evaluate patients, custom design, fabricate and fit prostheses and/or orthoses to deliver exceptional outcomes for the patients you serve. You will collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team and innovate utilizing the latest technology as we all strive to empower human potential together.
Your Impact
Depending on the operational requirements, size of the Hanger Clinic and subject to limitations imposed by state and/or local law, your role may include some or all of the functions listed below.
Collaborate with physicians in the evaluation and analysis of a patient's need for prosthetic and/or orthotic services; recommend treatment options to physicians when necessary.
Examine and evaluate patient needs in relation to disease and functional loss.
Formulate design of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
Select materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts, taking into account new techniques and materials.
Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments.
Evaluate prosthetic and/or orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
Instruct patient in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
Identify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health care professionals.
Utilize effective materials management, quality and performance processes to maximize device quality and medical efficacy, maintaining a proper balance with costs and operational/financial performance.
Meet with physicians, case managers and other referral sources to review prosthetic and/or orthotic services and capabilities; develop and enhance business relationships to identify and secure ongoing and future sources or referrals.
Plan and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets in coordination with management.
Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
May mentor residents or newly certified clinicians.
Provide assistance to other clinical staff.
Provide information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities.
Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with bloodborne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
May be asked to perform on-call, hospital calls, or float between more than one Hanger Clinic location.
Minimum Qualifications
Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC), or
A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent, and current ABC Board-Eligibility in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics.
A valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
In states where licensure is required, the ability to obtain and maintain state licensure may be required as well.
May be willing to consider candidates who are certified in one discipline who wish see patients in their certified discipline while simultaneously completing residency in the other discipline.
May be willing to consider candidates who are not certified or board-eligible but have at least 5 years of demonstrated past experience in providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under the supervision of a certified clinician.

Physical Abilities
Ability to lift patients using biomedical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds of weight alone.

This non-clinical position will receive and transfer calls appropriately in high volume. The positions primary responsibility is to answer inbound calls and assist callers by connecting them to the appropriate party, sharing information, providing assistance, answering questions and handling and/or resolving complaints.
These calls could be demanding, and you will be responsible for responding to inquiries from individuals facing challenging circumstances. These interactions may be emotionally charged, and it is important to be able to stay calm and professional.
The CSR is often the first interaction and must respond to the callers needs in a professional service-oriented manner while maintaining a high level of customer/client satisfaction.
Documentation is a must in this role - every call and conversation will be documented. Advanced tech skills mandatory.
Prior experience in a call center setting is required; a medical or behavioral health experience is highly preferred.
This position is temporary and will work an 8-hour shift between Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., or part-time 8-hour shift Monday- Wednesday within the call center hours 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
ALL holidays are required even if the holiday falls on a weekend.
Position is currently remote, and the person must have a work environment that is free from interruptions. On site work accommodations made on a case-by-case basis.
