Job Responsibilities: Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance, selecting the most economical and efficient shipping method and appropriate containers. Safely pack items to ensure secure delivery. Prepare bills of lading and compare items to be shipped against work orders to ensure accuracy of quantities, destination, and routing. Receive and unload incoming materials, comparing packing slip information with purchase orders to verify shipment accuracy. Process return shipments from customers and vendors when necessary. Sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and log inventory for shipment or receipt. Inspect shipments for damages or defects, record discrepancies or damages, and promptly notify supervisors and/or purchasing personnel. Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtain authorized signatures for accepted items. Trace lost shipments and handle customer claims of lost shipments. Initiate proof of delivery documents. Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records as needed. Operate pallet jacks and/or forklifts to load and unload supplies and equipment. May operate company vehicles for delivery purposes. Assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area. Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and control standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Successful candidate will possess: Successfully pass drug test screenings throughout employment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to follow directions and instructions accurately. Uphold safety standards and prioritize safety in all tasks. Ability to safely lift up to 70 lbs. Basic computer skills for inventory management and communication. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and multitask. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Be prepared to spend the occasional evening or weekend conducting company business. Our job is not always 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday Attend training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new products and special promotions.
