• Conducted two successful turnarounds, Vasomedical and HeartSine Technologies, both nearly out of cash when I joined them.

• Introduced several new, complex products at Medtronic, SCIMED, Boston Scientific, US Surgical, Sorin, and HeartSine.

• Built or transformed distribution networks at Boston Scientific, US Surgical, Datascope, Sorin and HeartSine Technologies.

• Grew business from $94 to $150 million in a year at Boston Scientific and from $29 to $40 million at Sorin (also in 1 year).

He blends financial and systems knowledge with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. He has nearly 30 years of experience in serving in the finance function of a corporation. He has held CFO/controller position at a major Tier 1 Automotive supplier and has overseen planning and reporting, cash management, and standard costing. He has managed accounting staff and overseen the Human Resource function. Mr. Berkowski has maintained relationships with vendors, bankers, external auditors, attorneys, insurance providers, and investors. As Treasurer and Corporate controller of an International manufacturer of outer wear, Mr. Berkowski managed the accounting department during a period of rapid growth where sales and income doubled in three consecutive five-year periods. He designed efficient workflows and controls while building a strong team. As Audit Supervisor at the CPA firm of Plante & Moran, Mr. Berkowski supervised audits primarily in manufacturing and participated in consulting engagements. Mr. Berkowski has an MBA in accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from University of Detroit. He is a member of the Michigan Association Certified Public Accountants.
