A Day in the Life:
The Thrift Associate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operation of the thrift store. The Thrift Associate will help maximize revenues through use of approved marketing and display techniques, appropriate pricing practices and excellent customer service.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma / GED required
Thrift store and/or merchandising experience preferred
Ability to manage time independently in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision
Must be able to run the cash register without assistance upon completion of training.
Accept, process and price donations providing the best customer service to both donors and customers.
Assist customers with loading and unloading their donations/purchases, including furniture items.
Upon completion of training, must be able to process donations quickly and efficiently which can be up to about 700 garments or about 40 boxes of hard goods in a shift.
Assist volunteers with thrift store operations. Volunteers are to be thoroughly trained on cash register, receiving donations, processing and customer service.
Work closely with Thrift Store Drivers to ensure prompt pickups of donated items. Be ready and available to help drivers load and unload the truck if necessary.
Prepare inventory for all estate donations; prepare all required documents for tax purposes.
Keep volunteer roster current, including phone numbers and days and times worked; distribute copies to appropriate individuals. Track and maintain record of volunteer hours worked.

A Day in the Life:
As a part time Photographer on our award winning MarComm team, you'll help homeless pets shine by capturing personality filled images that support their journey to a loving home. Your day will start with transporting pets safely from their kennels to the studio, photographing and editing portraits of adoptable animals from dogs and cats to the occasional small critter and uploading them into our shelter software. You'll collaborate with teammates across three campuses to manage pet flow, maintain accurate records, and guide volunteers assisting in the studio. A Day in the Life
As a Transport Driver you are in integral part of shelter operations and are responsible for safely and thoughtfully transporting animals to and from off-site adoption locations, shelter facilities and media/adoption events. A Day in the Life:
As one of our dedicated EAMT's you will be responsible for providing rescue services and medical care to animals in illness, traumatic or cruelty situations. Experience:
Experience as Humane Officer, Animal Control Officer, Police Officer, or Military Police preferred.

Extensive knowledge of Arizona Revised Statute Title 13, and animal-related portions of Titles 3 and 11.
Must be 21 years old.
Must have an acceptable driving record and ability to pass drug and background screening to be insured as an AHS driver.

A Day in the Life:

A Day in the Life:

A Day in the Life:
As an Animal Care & Experience specialist, you will demonstrate innovation, compassion, and excellence by ensuring all animals receive: kindness, compassion, low stress handling, positive interactions, mental stimulation, and physical exercise daily. You will you will clean and sanitize facility and animal habitats according to outlined procedures and timelines, including emptying garbage, washing dishes, laundry, dog yards, and walkway sanitization daily. Feed, water, and maintain animal habitats in accordance with departmental and organizational standards at all times. You will also guide and work alongside volunteers and new team members.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma OR GED
Customer service or animal experience (preferred).
Proficiency with or ability to learn/use Chameleon software for use with animals in shelter.
Have and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all animal care and experience procedures.
Handle all animals humanely per our low-stress and fear-free standards; correctly use safety equipment if necessary.
Adhere to all established workflows to ensure the needs of the animals, the department, and the organization are met.
Understand and adhere to all set cleaning, chemical, handling, and safety procedures.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There may be occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated office environment.

A Day in the Life:
As a Behavior Specialist, you will assist the operations of the Behavior team championing AHS' core values of innovation, compassion, and excellence. You will provide exceptional internal and external customer service as a member of a professional team that performs behavior evaluations, provides objective descriptions and makes disposition decisions, performs behavior modification and kennel enrichment. You will speak directly with owners, adopters, staff, and volunteers about the pet's behavior and suitability for adoption through AHS. You will assist medical staff with providing treatment and direct the flow of animals through the behavior department and maintain a healthy capacity of behavior animals. You will be an integral part of staff and volunteer training on appropriate handling and bite prevention.
Job Requirements:
High schooldiploma/GED.
At least 6 months of experience working in a sheltersetting or certification in animal training or animal behavior.
Understand all elements of Operant/Classical Conditioning and be able to apply those concepts appropriately.
Understand and be able to interpret canine and feline body
Use and promote a positive reinforcement, force-free training
Willingness to learn, receptive to coaching and adaptable to
Must be able to remain focused, calm and productive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communicator with attention to external and internal customer service skills.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
This position requires continuous standing, walking and kneeling, reaching, stooping and bending with little opportunity to sit down. This person must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The position requires repetitive motion of the hand, wrist and elbow as well as good vision and hearing. Must be able to hear above the sound of the animals and be able to speak clearly and communicate well with employees
and the public. This individual handles a high volume of animals, has a great deal of contact with all departments and works closely with co-workers; is exposed to poor ventilation, heat, cold, sudden temperature changes and wet quarters as well as noise, animal odors and dander as well as potentially dangerous, fast-moving animals.

A Day in the Life:
As one of our dedicated EAMT's you will be responsible for providing rescue services and medical care to animals in illness, traumatic or cruelty situations. You will assist other emergency agencies by performing a range of tasks including complex animal rescues, cruelty investigations, evidence collection at suspected crime scenes as well as medical stabilization and transport of animals in distress.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma OR GED.
Successful completion of an EAMT assessment with a passing score of 75% or greater within six months of start date.
Successful completion of the Physical Assessment test will be required annually to maintain employment.
Valid driver's license.
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls to pick up and transport sick and injured stray animals.
Perform physical exam and stabilize animals that have been involved in traumatic situations; scan for microchip and record all findings.
Safely perform complex rescues of animals stuck in life threatening situations such as in attics, walls, engines, drains, canals, and trees.
Administer treatment to injured or ill animals in the field.
Behavior assessments on scene with appropriate use of restraint with an emphasis on soft handling techniques.
Prepare animals for veterinary examinations by notating the animal's full history, medical condition upon arrival on scene and any treatment and/or procedures performed on the animal.
Respond to, investigate and follow up on animal cruelty complaints. Collect evidence, take photographs, scan in relevant records and provide thorough documentation in shelter software.
Prepare formal reports for police departments and prosecutors.
Testify in court for civil seizure and criminal proceedings.
Euthanize animals in a safe and humane manner.
Experience:
Experience as Humane Officer, Animal Control Officer, Police Officer, or Military Police preferred.
Shelter experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Arizona Revised Statute Title 13, and animal-related portions of Titles 3 and 11.
Must be 21 years old.
Must have an acceptable driving record and ability to pass drug and background screening to be insured as an AHS driver.
Must be a highly organized individual and possess good public relations and customer service skills.
Must be able to pass the EAMT training curriculum and physical agility test.
